摘要： In embodiments of the present invention improved capabilities are described for a paper roll resizing system. The paper roll resizing system may include a shafted roll stand that suspends a roll of paper mounted horizontally, wherein the shafted roll stand is fixed to a machine housing and is adapted to spin the roll of paper. Alternatively, the roll stand suspends the roll of paper mounted horizontally from two chucks on opposite ends of the roll. The system further includes a cutting tool movably mounted to the roll stand, wherein the cutting tool comprises at least one of a milling head, a planing head, a circular saw, and a laser cutting tool. A controller (PLC) may adjust the position of the cutting tool with respect to the roll of paper held by the roll stand.

摘要： In the case of a method for the production of punched parts in web- or sheet-like print substrates, wherein the punched parts are punched in the pass of the print substrates through a punching tool and thereafter provided in the pass through a further tool with a feature which requires a positioning within predetermined limits on them, it is suggested according to the invention that markings are punched out with the punching tool in the print substrates in each case arranged in a tolerance-free manner in terms of their position relatively to the punched parts and that these markings are used in the subsequent processing of the punched parts for guiding the feature mentioned.

摘要： Apparatus and methods to adjust the lateral clearance between upper and lower blades of shearing machines are described. An example apparatus includes a first blade opposite a second blade and movably coupled to a frame of the shear press via a ram, wherein the first and second blades are to receive a strip material. A lateral clearance adjustor slidably coupled to the ram shifts the first blade laterally relative to the second blade. A sensor determines a clearance position and a first drive member moves the lateral clearance adjustor from an initial position to the clearance position. A second drive member operatively coupled to the ram drives the first blade toward the second blade to shear the strip material.

摘要： An apparatus for cutting optimally sized fruit and vegetable pieces, such as potatoes, that is made of a dump chute, a trough, a conveyor having paddles forming paddle pockets, a drive means, at least one sensor, a programmable logic controller (PLC), and a cutter assembly. The dump chute receives materials and loads them singly onto a conveyor within a paddle pocket disposed along the conveyor. The drive means moves the conveyor, which then advances the material from the dump chute toward the cutter. As the material moves along the trough, the sensor determines the first and second ends of the potato and inputs this information to the PLC. This PLC has a human interactive component for selecting the criteria to be used in selecting the dimensions of the desired potato pieces to be obtained. The PLC receives the information from the sensors and determines the number and sizes of the pieces that the potato should be cut into to achieve the optimal results based upon the pre-selected criteria. This information is then passed to the cutter and makes the directed number of cuts necessary to obtain the pre-desired number of optimally sized vegetable pieces.
