摘要： The invention is directed to an electrical appliance comprising a housing structure for accommodating at least one functional component and at least one rechargeable storage cell cooperating with the functional component, a storage cell charging circuitry, as well as an appliance plug provided on the appliance and comprising a connector base having a receiving aperture in which contact pins are provided for engagement with a connector of a power cord supplying electrical power to the storage cell. Adapted to be mounted on the connector base is a supporting structure including two contact elements, the supporting structure establishing electrical continuity between the storage cell and the contact pins when mounted on the appliance, and breaking it when detached from the appliance.

The electrical appliance may also have a holder for the tool portion in which the tool portion can be held with the adapter connected. The tool portion may be easily detachable from the adapter held in the holder during battery powered operation or alternatively the tool portion with the adapter connected may be easily removed from the holder when the tool portion is energized by the line voltage.

摘要： A self-contained electric shaver capable of being used with water and powered from either a main or a reserve rechargeable battery comprises a housing having thereon a shaving head and accommodating therein the main and reserve rechargeable batteries. The housing also accommodates a motor drivingly connected to the shaving head for effecting a hair shearing operation. Terminal pins adapted to be connected to an external battery charger for feeding an electric charging current to the batteries extend in a sealed manner through respective apertures formed in the lower end wall of the housing. At least one drain pipe extends in a sealed manner through a vent hole also formed in the lower end wall for passing out of the housing the gas discharged from the batteries upon charging thereof. The terminal pins and the drain pipe, all concentrated to the lower end wall to extend therethrough, are sealed with respect to the corresponding apertures and vent hole for preventing the outside water from entering interior of the housing while allowing the discharged gas to be drained out of the housing.

摘要： The holder releasably receives and holds a rechargeable tool portion and is associated with a cable electrically connecting the tool portion for line-powered operation or battery-powered operation with a current source. The holder has a shell-like rest enclosing a lower portion of the tool portion and is structured to be changeable from a first configuration, in which the tool portion is supported by the holder and is removable for battery-powered operation, to a second configuration, in which the tool portion with the holder attached can be used for line-powered operation. The holder has a first leg extending longitudinally along a larger part of one side of the tool portion when the tool portion is in the holder, a second leg pivotally connected to one end of the first leg and acting as a supporting limb and a spreading spring connected to the second leg to urge the second leg from the first leg into a spread position so the tool portion and holder can stand together on a surface during battery charging. The second leg is provided with a plurality of catches engagable in cavities in the tool portion when the second leg is engaged with the first leg to form a compact structure together with the tool portion during line-powered operation.

A driving motor is linked to the movable cutter for slidably moving the movable cutter along the fixed cutter. The power supply circuit comprises a charging circuit and a control circuit. The charging circuit includes a voltage reducing transformer, and a rectifying element and a rechargeable battery connected in series with the secondary coil of the voltage reducing transformer. The control circuit is connected to the driving motor in parallel to the rechargeable battery. The control circuit includes a starting switch and at least one voltage drop element having a substantially constant voltage characteristic. The starting switch and the voltage drop element are connected in series with the driving motor. The control circuit further includes means for selectively providing a short circuit providing means is connected in parallel to the voltage drop element and in parallel to the voltage drop element and includes an operator controllable switch mounted to the housing for selectively shorting the voltage drop element.
