摘要： A vacuum smelting device with mold-temperature control design includes: a chamber body and a cabin door, wherein the chamber body and the cabin door form a vacuum closed space; a smelting crucible disposed in the vacuum closed space for smelting raw materials to a molten metal; a casting mold also disposed in the vacuum closed space for accommodating the molten metal poured from the smelting crucible, and solidifying the molten metal to an as-cast alloy; and a mold-temperature control module surrounding the casting mold for controlling the temperature of the casting mold.

摘要： An arrangement for heat transfer to a melt in a tundish in a continuous casting process, wherein the tundish includes at least one outlet and an inlet, the arrangement including a heating chamber, a plasma heating apparatus including a plasma torch positioned inside the heating chamber, wherein the plasma heating apparatus is mounted on an arm and arranged to operate through a hole in the heating chamber with a distance to the melt and an electromagnetic stirrer placed outside of the heating chamber and arranged to electromagnetically stir the melt. The heating chamber further includes a pair of weirs installed at an upper part of the heating chamber and a pair of dams installed at a lower part of the heating chamber and the electromagnetic stirrer is arranged to electromagnetically stir the melt in a region of the heating chamber, wherein the region is enclosed by the weirs and dams.

摘要： A receptacle for handling molten metal is provided. The receptacle has bottom and side walls and includes a refractory defining a cavity within which the molten metal is conveyed or contained. The receptacle has at least one channel extending within at least one of its walls. The channel has an inlet and an outlet. The inlet is connectable to a source for circulating a fluid within the channel. The outlet allows the fluid to be expelled from said channel. The channel allows, when the fluid is circulated in it, to regulate the temperature of the refractory and thereby of the metal conveyed or contained. A casting assembly and a method for casting the refractory are also provided.

One vessel has a body formed from a plurality of elongate segments configured to be electrically isolated from each other and with a melting portion for melting meltable material therein. Material can be provided between adjacent segments. An induction coil can be used to melt the material in the body. Other vessels have a body with an embedded induction coil therein. The embedded coil can be configured to surround the melting portion, or can be positioned below and/or adjacent the melting portion, so that meltable material is melted. The vessels can be used to melt amorphous alloys, for example.

摘要： An apparatus for bottom pouring into an investment cast includes a container that holds a melted casting material, where the container moves from a first container position to a second container position. In the first container position, holes on a stationary nozzle are not exposed to the interior of the container, and the melted casting material remains in the container. In the second container position, holes on the stationary nozzle are exposed to the interior of the container, and the melted casting material flows out the bottom of the container through the stationary nozzle. A temperature detection device determines the temperature of the melted casting material, and a heating device heats the melted casting material to a specified temperature.

摘要： An annularly shaped piece (28) formed from refractory material is provided for a tundish (1) for continuous casting of metals for enclosing a plasma torch (18) for heating liquid metal (4). The interior wall (29) of the annularly shaped piece defines a space which widens with progression toward the bottom, the piece having an upper opening (30) and a lower opening and accommodating penetration of the lower end region of the torch (18) into the space. The annularly shaped piece (28) is fixed to a cover (24) or to the refractory walls (3) of the tundish (1), and/or is fixed to one or more dividing walls (10) which delimit a heating compartment (13) in the interior of said tundish (1), wherewith the space defined by the interior wall (29) of said piece (28) widens with progression toward the bottom of the tundish (1). The annularly shaped piece (28) provides a more durable enclosure for the plasma torch (18), and enhances the torch's efficiency by better focusing the torch radiation onto molten metal in the tundish (1).
