    • A shaping tool die for shaping components from sheet material includes two matching shaping tool die halves, each shaping tool die half having a plurality of spaced plate die shapes, each die shape having a rotatable curved surface mated with a curved recess in the free end of a base mounting plate such that each plate die shape is separately adjustable relative to a mated mounting plate. A position fixing plate is associated with each plate die shape and base mounting plate combination to adjustably fix the position of the plate die shape relative to the base mounting plate in a desired position. A base member is provided for receiving the base mounting plates for each tool die half, and at least one clamp plate member threaded through corresponding base mounting plates of each die half and removably fixed to a corresponding base member is provided to fix the base mounting plates in place.

The upper tool-side bending tool 23 and the lower tool-side bending tool 24 perform elevating and lowering operations relative to the upper tool 21 and the lower tool 22 to bend a plate material piece Wa of a plate material W sandwiched between the upper tool 21 and the lower tool 22.     • A pipe bending machine is described which utilizes a cord and lattice support structure having a first end, a second end, an interior lattice framework and an exterior connecting cord which connects the periphery of the interior lattice framework. Pipe securing tie backs are secured to the support structure adjacent each of the first end and the second end. At least one pressure exerting hydraulic cylinder is secured to the support structure intermediate the first end and the second end. The hydraulic cylinder has a pressure member movable in relation to the support structure thereby exerting a bending force upon a pipe held by the pipe securing means. The bending force places the interior lattice framework in compression and the connecting cord in tension. The forces of compression and tension being off-setting thereby enabling the support structure to withstand the bending force. The cord and lattice support structure, as described, enables the pipe bending machine to be made light enough to be carried by one man to remote locations along a pipeline right of way or other such construction sites.

    • A structural beam in the form of a channel, preferably of generally Z cross-section, having a central web and oppositely directed flanges along the longitudinal edges of the web is bent to an angle by cutting a slot through one flange and the web in a plane normal to channel axis to split the web and flange into separate sections having adjacent ends and then bending the other flange along a bend line in the plane of the slot to effect relative displacement of the web and flange section ends toward and into overlapping relation with one another. The overlapping section ends may be welded to one another to provide a rigid angleshaped beam. One web section may be slotted substantially in the plane of its flange section to provide a flange portion which may be bent to parallel and may be welded to the other web section. Alternatively, the end of one flange section may be offset lengthwise of the channel from the end of its web section to provide clearance for and may be welded to the other web section.
