    • Embodiments disclosed herein propose a precision spray pumping system including a positive displacement pump in fluid communication with at least one spray nozzle. The positive displacement pump includes a displaceable member, and displacement of the displaceable member corresponds to a pumping cycle of the positive displacement pump. A controller is in communication with the positive displacement pump. The controller is operable to apply an actuation parameter to direct a displacement of the displaceable member and is also operable to receive an indication of an actual position of the displaceable member. The controller is further operable to compare a predetermined actuation parameter associated with an expected displacement of the displaceable member to a measured actuation parameter associated with the actual position of the displaceable member.

    • A liquid spray nozzle comprising a nozzle body having an internal flow passage with a turbulent flow mechanism and a flow separating mechanism disposed in the flow passage and a converging mechanism at the nozzle body outlet to produce a relatively uniform droplet size spray. The turbulent flow mechanism induces turbulent flow to the fluid stream prior to the flow separating mechanism. The flow separating mechanism separates the turbulent flow into two separate, diverging streams. The converging mechanism directs the two streams together such that the colliding effect thereof produces a spray made up of substantially uniform sized droplets. Preferably, the converging mechanism is an orifice plate having two outwardly extending deflecting members and a generally oval-shaped opening and the nozzle body is adapted to threadably connect to a hose or other conduit. A sleeve can be utilized to protect the deflecting members and redirect a portion of the spray.
