摘要： An exemplary method includes forming a sacrificial layer along sidewalls of an array of trenches that are indented into a substrate, depositing a fill layer over the sacrificial layer, and then creating an array of gaps between the fill layer and the substrate by removing the sacrificial layer along the sidewalls of the trenches, while maintaining a structural connection between the substrate and the fill layer at the floors of the trenches. The method further includes covering the substrate, the fill layer, and the gaps with a cap layer that seal fluid-tight against the substrate and the fill layer. The method further includes indenting a first reservoir and a second reservoir through the cap layer, and into the substrate and the fill layer, across the lengths of the array of gaps, so that the array of gaps connects the first reservoir in fluid communication with the second reservoir.

摘要： A foreign object protection system for dishwashers is disclosed. The foreign object protection system prevents large objects from damaging other components of a dishwasher. An example dishwasher for treating dishes according to a cycle of operation includes a tub at least partially defining a treating chamber for receiving utensils for treatment according to the at least one automatic cycle of operation, a sump fluidly coupled to the tub and collecting liquid supplied to the tub, a recirculation pump having an inlet fluidly coupled to the sump and an outlet fluidly coupled to the tub to recirculate liquid from the sump to the treating chamber; and a foreign object protection system comprising an inclined grate, and fluidly separating the sump and the outlet; wherein liquid in the tub collects in the sump and is recirculated by actuating the recirculation pump such that the liquid in the sump is drawn through the foreign object screen and expelled through the outlet to the tub and the foreign object screen protects the recirculation pump from harmful objects.

The housing 13 includes an interior chamber 11 for receiving the waste collection products 1 and a fluid discharge port 14 for passing fluids 6 into a waste collection unit 2. The strainer 80 is located in the chamber 11 and above the fluid discharge port 14. The at least one inlet port 12A, 12B, 12C, 12D is positioned to open alongside an interior chamber wall 13A of the housing 13 above the strainer 80 to direct the flow of the waste collection products 1 in a downward swirl along the interior chamber wall 13 A toward the strainer 80.

摘要： A liquid filtering apparatus is placed in a vessel having a bed of filtration material and an intake for introducing unfiltered liquid, that includes a washbox, an airlifting tube extending from the washbox and including an intake end and means for introducing a primary gas to the airlifting tube, the airlifting tube passing through a central pipe, which extends from just below the washbox to a position just above the intake end. At least one screen cartridge is oriented in a generally angular downward direction in the bed and is in communication with an effluent chamber defined in part by the outer surface of the central pipe. A reject line extends from the washbox, and an effluent collector extends from the effluent chamber. A method of filtering and cleaning the filtration material is also disclosed.

摘要： A filter for use in a waste water discharge system including a first channel defining a receptacle for a filter and a second channel connected generally orthogonally to the first channel providing an outlet from the filter receptacle. The filter has an axial support of a pre-selected length, a plurality of bristles fixed to the axial support extending radially outward to define an outer margin. The outer margin of the bristles, at some portions along the pre-selected length, are at least equal to an inside dimension of the channel defining the receptacle. A handle is fixed to the axial support facilitating the placement and withdrawal of the filter element in the filter receptacle. A shield member is provided that is generally conformable to the inside surface of the filter receptacle. The shield member has a length dimension sufficient to cover the outlet leading to the second channel for blocking any flow of waste water into the second channel during replacement of the filter element.

摘要： A fuel injection nozzle for internal combustion engines having a cartridge filter provided with two groups of longitudinal grooves, disposed in a fuel conduit one of which groups of longitudinal grooves originates at one end of the filter while the other group originates at the opposite end of the filter. All longitudinal grooves terminate in a central section of the filter. The fuel conduit and the reduced diameter of the central section of the filter define an annular slit. The longitudinal grooves have a cross-section decreasing over the extent thereof to their termini, so that any excess and harmful amounts of fuel in the filter can be decreased, while maintaining the same external diameter of the filter for purposes of filter replacement in existing fuel injection nozzles.

摘要： Economical plastic well screens having good hydraulic performance can be produced by the method of the present invention wherein a sheet having a large plurality of V-shaped slots is injection molded, is roll-formed into a cylindrical shape, and then has its longitudinal edges bonded to each other. The resistance of the screen to collapse and tensile forces can be enhanced by the addition of ribs in one or two directions. Also, the sheet can be rolled in one direction or another to vary the slot direction or to permit flow from inside to outside as well as the conventional outside to inside.
