    • An air filter for a combustion engine for off-load motorcycles is made from a porous foam material. The air filter has contiguous side surface forming a cavity with at least two openings where the side surface contains at least one filter layer, a bottom surface closing at least one of the two openings where the bottom surface contains at least one filter layer, where the side surface has more air resistant than the bottom surface. The side surface has more air resistant than said bottom surface by arranging any combination of thickness of the surfaces, number of layers, and porosity ratio of the layers.

    • A filter well suited for paint arrestor usage having a monolithic high loft manmade fiber body with a convoluted flow contact surface. The filter is preferably formed by a convoluter as in one with a roller set and blade cutter to form mirror image fiber filter sheets from a received fiber batt. Provided is a well mixed proper fiber blend, such as one having a set of fibers made of a majority of course fibers joined by way of thermal bonding fibers which facilitate, during convoluting, formation of a crisp cut and high integrity three dimensional surface, as in one of rows of peaks separated by valleys. The projection/recess arrangement over the flow contact surface as well as the thickness and relative projection-to-base dimensions are arranged to provide a high paint holding capacity without too fast a load up of, for example, paint particles and while avoiding too great of a pressure drop within that load up time.

    • A conical frustum shaped air cleaner comprised of a porous foam material in multiple layers. A cavity opening is formed at the center section of the flat bottom surface of the cleaner. The airflow resistance through the aforementioned foam material formed in the tapered side section of the cleaner is different from the airflow resistance through the foam material comprising the upper-surface section of the air cleaner. The desired airflow resistance is also controlled by selecting the appropriate number of layers, the appropriate thickness and the appropriate foaming ratio of the applicable foam materials that comprise the side-surface section and upper-surface section of the air cleaner.
