摘要： In an anesthesia vaporizer for vaporizing an anesthetic agent liquid and a method of vaporizing an anesthetic agent liquid in an vaporizer, an evaporation unit evaporates the anesthetic agent, a delivery unit intermittently adds a volume of said liquid to the evaporation unit in order to evaporate at least a portion of the volume of the liquid from the evaporation unit. A heat energy storage unit includes a phase change material (PCM) and is thermally coupled to at least a portion of the evaporation unit. The PCM has a phase shift temperature that is higher than the evaporation temperature of the anesthetic agent. The PCM in the heat energy storage unit is preferably at least partly liquid at an operative temperature of the vaporizer.

摘要： The invention relates to a device for providing a breathing gas, in particular to a device for conditioning a breathing gas for stimulating weight reduction of a breathing creature. The invention provides a device for providing a breathing gas, comprising gas supply means and gas conditioning means. The device provides a breathing creature with a breathing gas which is conditioned by adding particles comprising a frozen fluid to the breathing gas. When the breathing creature inhales the breathing gas, his body comes into contact with the gas and the particles comprising the frozen fluid. The breathing gas and the particles will be warmed by the body of the creature, preferably to a temperature at which the frozen fluid starts to melt. The warming of the particles and the breathing gas by the body of the breathing creature requires energy, and therefore stimulates the metabolism of a breathing creature, promoting fat burning and inducing weight reduction.

Devices having injectors (e.g., syringes) attached to biaxial or coaxial injection cannula(s) are used to deliver multiple components of a particular therapy such that those components become combined shortly before or upon exiting the injection cannula(s). In some embodiments, the injector devices of the present invention may include a first set of finger grips at a first location and a second set of finger grips at a second location. Also, in some embodiments, the injector devices of the present invention may include depth slops for controlling the depth within tissue at which the therapeutic substance is delivered. Also, in some embodiments, the injector devices of the present invention may include refill manifolds with attached syringes or other reservoirs containing the component substances to facilitate refilling of the injectors.

摘要： An apparatus and method for warming intravenous equipment is disclosed. The apparatus includes at least one warming device comprised of insulated wrap material having at least one removable and reusable heat pack supported along an inner insulated surface of the wrap material. The apparatus releasably encloses intravenous equipment such as I.V. bags and/or I.V. tubing. Two such warming devices can be attached together in series so that one warming device warms the I.V. bag while the other warms a substantial length of I.V. tubing. A flexible insulated strip of material is detachably connected to the wrap material and is used to insulate portions of the I.V. infusion equipment which must be easily accessible and which are neither required nor intended to be heated. The apparatus has particular use for warming intravenous equipment used in routine or emergency pre-hospital situations, especially in cold environments.

摘要： A treatment system delivers a breathing gas and frozen ice or other particles (FSP) to a bronchus of a lung of a patient in order to induce hypothermia. The breathing gas and the FSP are usually delivered through separate lumens. Clogging of an FSP lumen can be inhibited by heating and/or cooling of the lumen. The temperature of exhaled gases or a body temperature may be measured, and a controller can adjust the duration or rate at which the ice particles are delivered in order to control the patient's core temperature based on the measured temperature.

摘要： The headache mitigating apparatus includes at least a transverse strap configured to wrap around a user's head in the manner of a hat band and at least one strap configured to extend under the user's occipital bone and rest along the user's upper neck as well as extending over the head strap at a forward end thereof. The apparatus can include bladders in the transverse and occipital straps, respectively. The bladders can be filled simultaneously or separately with a pneumatic hand pump such as those found on sphygmomanometers or may include an inflation apparatus which is operable via a push button, in a manner similar to that in which self-inflating items inflate. At least one strap may also accommodate a gel pack for heating or cooling. One or both straps may include buckles or hook and loop closures configured to be adjusted to secure the apparatus to the user's head.
