摘要： Angiographic dye is used in multiple diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. These procedures have a very high accuracy of diagnostic and therapeutic abilities but have potential nephrotoxicity. This patent relates to (i) an improvement in angiography therapy technology using a Nanomagnetic modification of angiography contrast dye and (ii) a novel process for its removal using intravascular catheter based electromagnet system. This patent also relates to in-laboratory and/or in-house modification of the existing radiocontrast dye using various methods for making it amenable to manipulation and/or extraction off the blood stream, by the catheter based electro magnet system as described in the present invention. This patent also relates to the process of reno-protection from potentially nephrotoxic contrast dye by its electromagnetic removal and its use thereof.

A preferred non-ionic surfactant surface modifier is a poloxamine or tyloxapol, and preferred charged phospholipid cloud point modifiers include dimyristoyl phosphatidyl glycerol. This invention further discloses a method of making nanoparticles having a non-ionic surfactant as a surface modifier adsorbed on the surface and a charged phospholipid as a cloud point modifier associated therewith, comprised of contacting said nanoparticles with the cloud point modifier for a time and under conditions sufficient to increase the cloud point of the surface modifier.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a composition comprised of nanoparticles having tyloxapol adsorbed on the surface thereof. In a preferred embodiment, said nanoparticle contains a diagnostic or therapeutic agent therein. In a further preferred embodiment, the nanoparticles contain a further surface modifier associated therewith. 摘要： The present invention relates to diagnostic and therapeutic nanoparticles. More particularly, the present invention relates to creating a hybrid gold/gold sulfide nanoparticle with a chitosan matrix surrounding the metallic nanoparticle and a method for making the same. The chitosan-coated gold/gold sulfide nanoparticles can then be incorporated with additional therapeutic or diagnostic compounds such as iodine, antibodies, or other suitable compounds. The nanoparticles of the present invention have the dual capabilities of absorbing near infrared wavelength light to (1) act as a therapeutic agent by generating heat energy effective for cell ablation or for release of therapeutic compounds embedded in the chitosan matrix and (2) creating diagnostic benefit by incorporation of X-ray or MRI contrast-agents.
