    • Temperature monitoring beverage containers and associated methods are provided. The containers include a temperature sensor operative to sense the temperature of a beverage stored within the container. The temperature of the beverage may be displayed on a display. The containers are also operative to provide one or more alerts to a user indicating that the beverage stored in the container may not be suitable for consumption. When used for beverages that are normally consumed when hot, the alerts may indicate to a user that the beverage is dangerously hot or undesirably cool. When used for beverages that are normally consumed when cold, the alerts may indicate to a user that the beverage is at a temperature known to cause spoilage of the beverage, thus preventing the user from consuming a potentially spoiled beverage. The alerts may be provided by way of an audible or visual indicator, such as an LED.

    • The present invention is using the elementary principle that a containers weight varies with the amount of fluid the container is containing. This observation is used in the present invention to show the amount of fluid in the container by a simple weight measurement of the container. The container/jug is placed on or hung one or more springs (FIG. 2.B.) or other material with the same elastic characteristic. The indicator of the fluid level is achieved by the inner containers position read in comparison to the outer container (FIG. 1.C). As the container/jug is emptied, the weight decreases and the inner container will get a higher rest position and a further bigger part of the inner container (indicator) will be visible. FIGS. 1 and 2 (left container) illustrate a jug filled with coffee (fluid). The spring is calibrated in a way that the inner container (A) has a rest position, where it is nearly invisible and covered by the outer container (C). FIGS. 1 and 2 (right container) illustrate a jug that is nearly empty. The inner container now has a considerable lesser weight and a high rest position. It gives a visual effect indicating the amount of fluid in the jug and it will be possible to make that estimate at a distance. As the jug empties the weight gets lesser and the container will get a rest level on a higher position and a rising part of the indicator will be visible. The advantages of the invention are the possibility from a distance to determine how much fluid the container/jug contains without shaking/lifting the jug, because the container/jug is changing form depending on how much fluid its contain.

    • A beverage dispenser (20) has a double-walled tubular, preferably cylindrical, sensor (22) that is immersed in liquid (23), such as coffee or tea, within an opaque, stainless steel container, or beverage dispenser (25) has a double-walled tubular sensor connected via two conductive paths (24, 26) to two inputs (28, 30), respectively, of a resistance measuring circuit (32) that measures the resistance between the two inputs (28, 30) to produce an electrical, direct current, resistance output signal that varies with changes in the instantaneous resistance between the two inputs (28, 30) The resistance output signal is connected to an input (34) of an electronic controller (40) The electronic controller (40) calculates the depth of the liquid (23) based on the magnitude of the resistance output signal applied to the input (34). The sensed and calculated level is then converted to display control output signals produced on a controller output terminal and connected to electronic display (44) to provide a visual indication of the level or quantity of beverage within the dispenser (20). Alternatively, resistance is measured between the interior of the beverage dispenser (20) and a sensor tube.

    • A carafe content identification marking system is taught that is used for designating the contents of a liquid in a carafe. The preferred carafe (20) is the counter top, double wall vacuum sealed, high flow type having an open handle. (22). The stopper cap (24) of the carafe has a selected identification color representing the contents of the carafe. A removable handle grip (38) and thumb rest (40) are disposed over the handle of the carafe and also have the same selected identification color as the stopper cap. An identification marker in the form of a snap-in insert (42) is attached to the carafe having the same selected identification color as the stopper cap in addition to indicia designating in writing, the contents of the carafe. The color combination and indicia readily indicates, at a casual glance, the type of liquid stored within.
