摘要： An outerwear garment for use with a fall-arrest harness devised to permit a fall-arrest harness to be worn underneath an outerwear garment body, such as a jacket, vest, or coat, between an aperture on a rear side thereof and a Dee-ring access flap covering the aperture. A plurality of fasteners disposed on each of the rear side adjacent the access flap and along the perimeter of the access flap permits the access flap to be automatically opened for access to the fall-arrest harness. Lanyard hook-receiving members disposed on a front side of the garment body also permit hanging of lanyard hooks thereon during periods of non-use.

The head support may include a support bracket including a first end mounted to the harness, and a rest member coupled to a second end of the support bracket such that the rest member extends across a forehead of the user and/or at least partially around the user's head when the harness is worn for supporting the user's forehead.

The novel garment comprises an outer shell, an inner lining, and an internal frame structure. The internal frame structure comprises a ribbing nexus comprising horizontal and vertical members. Novel features include handgrips disposed inside front pockets and connected to the internal frame structure. In some embodiments, the internal frame structure comprises elastic members. Pocket-borne handgrips may be attached to elastic members so that when engaged by a rear tandem passenger, the internal frame structure is tightened against the tandem vehicle driver's body to provide stain relief and additional stabilization of the jacket as a passenger safety device.

The load can be an airbag, a backpack, or other load or load carrying member for attaching to the harness. The jacket can be readily removed without disturbing the harness or its load. The removed jacket is effectively carried by the load and/or harness to which the load is secured. The inner harness can be used to carry loads without using the jacket.

摘要： A system which consists of bands, assembled and anchored to a flap which is inserted to the side seam of a garment of a motorcycle or Jet Ski driver, the bands as strong as the seat belt are elongated sewn down along the back of the to the sides. The bands are part and parcel of the handholds threading through and securely fixed at the torso area of the driver. The parallel bands are secured in such a manner that forces pulling back on the handles do not go through the buckle, zipper, or other fasteners for the belts. Previous safety gear has been developed to secure passengers to the drivers but that gear is susceptible to failure because when passengers pull back, the loads go through fasteners, which can fail because they are improperly secured and not strong enough to withstand passengers “hanging on for dear life” during extreme accelerations. This System secures passengers by containing forces pulling back on the handholds within a rugged and permanently closed portion of the center front band. In the preferred embodiment the forces pulling back on the handholds are contained within a loop centered at front of the drivers vest. The positioning of the handles is natural and balanced. Users of this system will include all tandem riders.
