摘要： A processing machine for soy beans or other like material comprising a variable speed auger means which feeds soy beans into a hopper positioned above and in communication with an elongated barrel type housing. A screw conveyor means is rotatably mounted in the housing and has one end thereof operatively connected to power means for rotation thereof. A spiral flighting means extends from the conveyor means towards the housing for conveying the soy beans along the length of the housing from its intake end to its discharge end. A fluting means is provided on the interior surface of the housing and extends towards the screw conveyor means. A frustum-shaped end plate is secured to the discharge end of the screw conveyor means for rotation therewith. A ring-shaped end member is secured to the discharge end of the housing and has a central opening formed therein with a progressively increasing diameter. The frustumshaped end member is rotatably received within the central opening. A bearing means is provided at the intake end of the conveyor means and is threadably mounted in the intake end of the housing to permit the selective longitudinal movement of the conveyor means with respect to the housing. The selective longitudinal movement of the bearing means causes the longitudinal movement of the conveyor means which permits the clearance between the frustum-shaped end member and the ringshaped end member to be varied. A brake means is provided on the machine adapted to engage the bearing means to maintain it in its selected positions with respect to the housing. A temperature sensing means is also provided on the housing for sensing the temperature of the material at the discharge end thereof. The soy beans are crushed and conveyed by the conveyor means and are forced outwardly from the housing between the frustum-shaped end member and the ring-shaped member. The soy beans are crushed, heated and cooked by heat and pressure applied thereto as the same travels through the housing and passes outwardly therefrom.

The first production line is configured to generate aqueous ozone independently from the additional production line.

The modular unit is configured with sections to create hygienic zoning of food to be processed. The modular unit is can contain components to process food from a raw state, such as an animal carcass or freshly harvested produce, through primary and (optionally) secondary processing. The modular unit can be utilized to process various types of food, and, therefore, the modular unit is provided in various embodiments depending on the food to be processed therein, and the types of processing that are desired. The modular unit is constructed and the sections therein are configured such that as the food undergoes processing, it flows through the sections of the modular unit in an orderly manner, which helps to minimize or prevent food safety problems, such as cross contamination.

In one embodiment, a flow-through popper circulates unpopped corn kernels through a popping chamber by use of a plurality of vanes that directionally control a flow of high velocity, high temperature and high pressure air. In this embodiment, the air in the popping chamber causes the unpopped corn kernels to circulate as they move through the length of the popping chamber without the need for an auger or other moving apparatus.

The same process is applicable to other agricultural products with wrinkled skins, and produces unusually effective results.

摘要： An apparatus for processing edible foodstuffs having a cylindrical casing and a screw conveyor coaxially disposed within the casing for transporting a food product from one end to a point adjacent the other. A vertical discharge flue is positioned adjacent the discharge end of the casing and is in communication with an opening at the bottom thereof. Heat-exchanging liquid is introduced into the casing through orifices in the bottom to heat or cool the product, as the case may be, and in an amount sufficient to fill the casing to a level above that of the screw conveyor. The liquid entrains the product at a point adjacent the discharge end of the casing causing it to flow through the bottom opening thereof and vertically up through the discharge flue from which it passes over a weir at the top thereof at a level substantially equal to the elevation of the liquid in the casing. The liquid assisted transport thereby achieves elevation of the product without risk of damage thereto.
