摘要： Apparatus and method for cutting and feeding foliage material from a stack, the apparatus comprising a wheeled vehicle, for example a wagon pulled by a tractor, capable of being displaced along the ground, a tiltable bed thereon disposed in a parallel position between ground engaging wheels and a powered conveyor so that a stack of foliage may be loaded onto the bed from a position on the ground (or unloaded from the bed back to the ground) and also may be successively advanced along the conveyor bed to provide an overhang beneath and forward of a rotating angularly disposed variable cutter which travels horizontally and then vertically downward in a zig-zag pattern to successively cut slices of foliage from the overhang of the stack. The sliced material is forced out by a shield of the cutter and falls under force of gravity substantially continuously as it is cut onto a transverse foliage conveyor at the front of the vehicle and is thereby deposited upon the ground as a livestock feed windrow while the vehicle is displaced or into feed bins or onto another vehicle for subsequent processing while said stack vehicle is stationary. The rotating cutter is part of a traveling unit mounted on a carriage which is selectively moved vertically on a frame mounted on the vehicle. The traveling unit selectively moves horizontally from side-to-side. A pressurized hydraulic system and electronic system, which may comprise part of the tractor or otherwise, selectively powers the moving parts of the apparatus.

摘要： Livestock feed such as hay is fed from a stack by loading the stack on a bed and transporting it to a feeding point. The stack is then advanced intermittently along the bed to a position partially underlying a raised cutter bar slicer. As the slicer is lowered, the slices are pushed away from the stack and caused to gravitate to a lateral conveyor which transfers the hay thus sliced from the stack to a point of discharge.

摘要： An apparatus for withdrawing compressed fodder or similar agricultural material from a pile has an engaging tool which is mounted on a cantilever arm arrangement. This arrangement is capable of reaching over a quantity of fodder to be withdrawn and engaging behind the quantity from above so that the remainder of the material will not be loosened. The engaging tool shifts the quantity of fodder into a receptacle which is mounted on a common support with the cantilever arm arrangement, the support being adapted to be mounted on a tractor. Hydraulic cylinder-and-piston units connected to the hydraulic system of the tractor are used for moving the engaging tool into and from the receptacle.

摘要： Hay is fed from a stack to a point of further processing or livestock consumption by intermittent advancement of the stack to positions beneath a cutting mechanism that is carried by a vertically swingable boom. The boom is carried at one end thereof opposite to the cutting mechanism by a mast and is actuated by a fluid pressure piston and cylinder assembly. A lateral conveyor beneath the boom and adjacent the leading end of the stack receives the hay that is cutaway, and a flipper on the cutting mechanism deflects the cutaway hay toward the conveyor.
