摘要： A four column forging press has a frame formed by a top crossmember, a bottom cross-member and four columns interconnecting the top and bottom cross-members. The columns pass through an intermediate cross-member which is stationary and the frame is moved. In the zone where the columns pass through the intermediate cross-member, each column has two parallel, opposed guide surfaces which are substantially parallel to the plane containing the axis of the respective column and the axis of the diagonally opposite column. To provide adjustable guides, the guide surfaces engage vertically adjustable wedge-shaped members which are supported in two-part bushes with no gaps between the wedge-shaped members and the respective support surfaces of the bushes.

摘要： A horizontal hydraulic forging press has counter-acting forging pistons which are coupled so that the forging movements of the forging pistons are coupled together. The coupling is done by each forging piston having a step and a rearwardly-extending shank, at least two coupling-cylinder units being connected to each shank. For each shank, at least one piston-cylinder unit increases in volume and at least one piston-cylinder unit decreases in volume as the forging pistons make a forging stroke. The piston-cylinder unit which increases in volume is connected to a piston-cylinder unit which decreases in volume and is associated with the other piston, and vice versa, in order to obtain proper coupling.

摘要： A continuous casting plant consisting of at least one assembly comprising a supporting frame, a mold and a plurality of following guiding segments forming an arcuate apron attached to the frame. The segments are movable out of alignment with the apron in a direction away from the frame. The frame is disposed on the inside of the arcuate path formed by the apron and supported by the foundation structure of the plant at two bearing points, the bearing at the upper end of the frame being the main bearing located in line with a vertical through the center of gravity of said assembly, and the other bearing at the lower end of the frame being a loose bearing affording freedom of movement in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the path formed by the apron. There is also provided equipment for the reception of a dummy bar and introducible into an opening formed upon displacement of at least one segment at the outside of the apron. Such equipment comprises a deflectably mounted casing containing a telescopically extendable magazine for the dummy bar.

摘要： In a continuous casting machine two molds, each having the first section of the apron of a secondary cooling zone connected thereto to form a unit, are mounted on a turntable which is rotatable on a vertical axis. Each of said units is mounted to swing on said turntable on a horizontal axis. Thus, while one of said units is in casting position, and while casting continues, the other unit may be repaired or exchanged for a unit of different casting cross-section. To shift from one unit to another, both units are swung upwardly on their horizontal axes, and the turntable is then rotated on its vertical axis to bring the selected unit to proper position to allow the unit to be swung down to casting position.

摘要： Apparatus for the continuous casting of tubes includes a mandrel which extends into the mold. The diameter of the mandrel is expandable and contractable, suitably by having the mandrel composed of radially movable segments. During casting the diameter of the mandrel is expanded when there is no relative movement between the tube being formed and the mandrel, and is contracted when the tube moves relatively off the mandrel. In oscillating molds, in which the mandrel also oscillates, there would be no relative movement between the mandrel and the tube during the downward movement of the mandrel, during which the mandrel is expanded. On the upward movement the mandrel would be contracted.
