    • An optical connector assembly has a plug connector having a first optical element for performing emission or receipt of light and a first lens. It also has a receptacle connector having a second optical element for performing receipt or emission of light and a second lens. The plug connector includes a convex portion having sectional configuration of round arch and the first lens, and a plug portion formed on a forward end of the convex portion. The plug portion is perpendicular to first optical axis of the first optical element and the first lens. The receptacle connector includes a concave portion into which the convex portion is inserted and a receptacle portion in a bottom of the concave portion. The receptacle portion is perpendicular to second optical axis of the second optical element and the second lens. The plug or receptacle connector has supporting mechanism that supports the connector movably.

    • Disclosed herein is an information processing apparatus that transfers information, using direct memory access (DMA), between a first storage section in an information processing system and a second storage section in an information transfer system. The information processing system includes the first storage section for storing the information, and a control section. The information transfer system includes: the second storage section for storing descriptor information indicating the location at which the information is stored in the first storage section and the size of the information; and a DMA transfer section for DMA transferring the information between the first storage section and the second storage section based on the descriptor information. The DMA transfer section DMA transfers the descriptor information concerning the DMA transferred information from the second storage section to the first storage section. The control section loads the descriptor information from the first storage section.

    • The present invention provides, for the first time, the finding that Smac/DIABLO is underexpressed in cancers such as renal cell carcinoma. In particular, the present invention provides methods of diagnosing and providing a prognosis for cancers that underexpress Smac/DIABLO, as well as methods of drug discovery to identify therapeutics useful when used alone or in combination with other cancer therapeutics. The present invention also provides methods of treating or inhibiting cancers that underexpresses Smac/DIABLO, in which potentiation of Smac/DIABLO expression and/or activity sensitizes resistant tumor cells to cytotoxic treatments including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormonal therapy, and immunotherapy. Compositions, kits, and integrated systems for carrying out the diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic methods of the present invention are also provided.
