    • In one example embodiment, an information processing system includes an image pickup apparatus connected to a microscope having a stage configured to support an observation target object. In this example embodiment, the stage has a first position. The information processing system has a buffer having an amount of data. In response to the amount of data including a predetermined amount, the information processing system causes the stage to move from the first position to a different position. In response to the amount of data including the predetermined amount, the information processing system causes the buffer to, while the stage is moving, store images associated with the observation target object. In one example embodiment, the images are continuously captured by the image pickup apparatus. Thereafter, the information processing system, in response to the amount of data not including the predetermined amount, causes the image pickup apparatus to terminate capturing the images.

    • An information processing apparatus includes a device that performs data processing; and processors, each processor including a device driver corresponding to the device. A device driver set in correspondence with at least one processor has a resource-state holding unit that manages a resource flag indicating which processor is using or is scheduled to use resources used at the time of data processing using the device. At least one processor sets the resource flag to a flag value indicating that at least one processor is scheduled to use the resources in accordance with a schedule of at least one processor to use the device. At least one processor terminates or interrupts use of the device when at least one processor refers to the resource flag and recognizes that another processor is scheduled to use the resources during a period in which at least one processor is using the device.

    • The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus, an information processing method and a program for simplifying an interrupt process to reduce time needed for the interrupt process. If it is determined in step S52 that a network card pointer and a CPU clear pointer fail to match each other, i.e., that there is a packet area corresponding to a packet used in an executed DMA transfer process and having not undergone a DMA transfer complete process, processing proceeds to step S53. An interrupt generator sets a completion status as an interrupt status and proceeds to step S54. In step S54, the interrupt generator generates an interrupt signal. If it is determined in step S52 that there is not a packet area corresponding to a packet used in an executed DMA transfer process and having not undergone a DMA transfer complete process, processing proceeds to step S55. The interrupt generator clears the completion status. The present invention is applicable to a network card, for example.
