摘要： A roll-sheet feeding device having a roll sheet wound in a roll to feed a portion of the roll sheet to an image forming unit, includes a progressive mechanism to transmit a drive force from a drive source to transfer the portion of the roll sheet from the roll in a progressive direction, a roll-sheet drive mechanism to receive the drive force transmitted via the portion of the roll sheet transferred in the progressive direction, a rewinding mechanism to transfer the portion of the roll sheet in a direction opposite to the progressive direction via the roll-sheet drive mechanism to rewind the roll sheet, and a regenerating mechanism to obtain the drive force from the roll-sheet drive mechanism and transmit the obtained drive force to the progressive mechanism to regenerate the transmitted drive force as another drive force in addition to the drive force from the drive source.

The movable sheet guide wraps more of the sheet around the registration roller as a degree of tension of the sheet increases by moving against a bias force exerted by the bias member.

摘要： In a recording medium transporting mechanism, a flange member is attached on either side of a roll paper and the flange member has a diameter smaller than a maximum outer diameter of a roll paper. Support rollers support a corresponding one of the flange members in a rotatable manner. The support rollers are moveable along the axis of rotation of the roll paper. The sum of an outer diameter of corresponding one of the flange members and the support rollers is greater than a maximum outer diameter of the roll paper. A rewinding roller of at least a length equivalent to a distance between both sets of support rollers when the sets of support rollers are farthest apart is engaged with a support roller within the set of support rollers and can rotate the flange member in a rewinding direction over a desired amount of continuous time.

摘要： A developing device includes a developing sleeve driven to rotate for transporting a film of charged developer as carried thereon past a developing station where the film of developer is applied to an electrostatic latent image to have it developed. Also provided is a sponge roller pressed against and driven to rotate in the same rotating direction as that of the developing sleeve, so that the developer is supplied to the developing sleeve at one side of the contact between the developing sleeve and the sponge roller and any residual developer on the developing sleeve is removed at the other side of the contact. Preferably, a desired voltage difference is established between the developing sleeve and the sponge roller. Furthermore, the sponge roller is preferably so structured to have a sufficient conductivity level at least at its outer peripheral surface thereby allowing the residual charge on the developing sleeve to be discharged sufficiently.

摘要： A multi-beam scanning device for focusing deflected light beams onto an object to be scanned includes a light source unit, a deflector, a pitch adjustment device, and a conical-shape compression-torsion coil spring. The light source unit is rotatable about an optical axis and includes a plurality of light sources to emit the light beams and a plurality of coupling lenses disposed corresponding to the light sources. The deflector deflects the light beams emitted from the plurality of the light sources and passed through the plurality of the coupling lenses. The pitch adjustment device moves the light source unit in a first direction around the optical axis to adjust a beam pitch. The conical-shape compression-torsion coil spring urges the light source unit in a second direction opposite the first direction around the optical axis as well as in the optical axis direction. An image forming apparatus includes the multi-beam scanning device.
