    • A friction stirring and joining apparatus includes a tool holder; and pressing means provided ahead in the direction of joining by a tool held by the tool holder for pressing a junction surface of a workpiece. The pressing means includes a load imparting section that imparts a load toward the workpiece; a first abutting portion that is provided between the load imparting section and the tool held by the tool holder and abuts on the junction surface in the workpiece; a second abutting portion that is provided opposite the first abutting portion with respect to the load imparting section and abuts on the surface of the workpiece; and a supporting portion that is attached to the load imparting section and supports the first abutting portion and the second abutting portion.

The maintenance device includes a suction cap which is arranged with respect to the apparatus body, with a predetermined clearance, so the suction cap is rockable three-dimensionally; and an urging mechanism which urges a corner portion of the suction cap in a direction orthogonal to the nozzle surface.

    • An ink jet printer may be provided with an ink jet head, a cam member, a cam follower, and a valve operation mechanism. The ink jet head may comprise an ink chamber, an exhaust passage communicating with the ink chamber, and an exhaust valve disposed at the exhaust passage. The cam member may comprise a cam groove. The cam member may be configured to rotate. The cam groove may comprise a first groove, a second groove, and a third groove. The second groove and the third groove may branch from one end of the first groove. The cam follower may be configured to be guided along the cam groove. The valve operation mechanism may be coupled to the cam follower. In a state where the cam follower is present in a predetermined position in the third groove, the valve operation mechanism may make contact with the exhaust valve, and the exhaust valve may be in an opened state.

    • A droplet jetting device that includes a recording head section, a pressure sensor and a regulation pump is provided. The recording head section includes a recording head that jets droplets from nozzles and records an image at a recording medium. The pressure sensor is provided at the recording head section and senses a pressure of liquid supplied to the recording head by a main pump from a main tank. The main tank is disposed at a position away from the recording head section. The regulation pump is provided at the recording head section that is smaller in scale than the main pump and regulates pressure of the liquid such that the pressure of the liquid sensed by the pressure sensor is constant.
