摘要： An index apparatus for indexing a rotary table rotatably and vertically slidably received within a base, comprises a pair of coupling members secured to the rotary table and the base, respectively, and engageable with each other. The rotary table is lifted and lowered by a hydraulic actuator. The rotary table is rotated by a drive means including a drive motor. Generating means are provided to generate a signal each time the rotary table is rotated a unit angle. Control means are provided to reduce the rotational speed of the rotary table in response to the number of signals generated from the generating means, when the rotary table is rotated to a position spaced a predetermined angular distance from a desired angular position thereof. Control means also cause the rotation of the rotary table to stop in response to the number of signals from the generating means, when the rotary table is rotated to the desired angular position thereof.

摘要： A horizontal machine tool has a spindle head which supports a horizontal tool spindle. The spindle head is guided on a top surface portion of a base such that the spindle head is movable in two horizontal directions X and Z. A workpiece support for supporting a workpiece on its upper end is guided on the vertical front face portion of the base for movement in a vertical direction Y. When the spindle head is located at a machining position at the center in the X direction, a pair of guide portions of each of a front/back guide mechanism for the spindle head and a vertical guide mechanism for the workpiece support body take symmetrical positions with respect to a vertical plane including the axis of the tool spindle. A first index member and a second index member for supporting the workpiece are provided on the workpiece support body. Therefore, all surfaces of the workpiece excepting an attachment surface can be machined while being directed to a tool on the tool spindle. The horizontal machine tool has an automatic tool change apparatus including a tool change arm unit, a tool magazine, and an intermediate transport unit. The tool magazine is disposed on the front side of the machine tool and on one side of the workpiece support body in the X direction, and is designed such that a plurality of tools can be stored into and removed from the magazine from the front side thereof.

摘要： In a cutting machine tool, a spindle head rotatably carries a vertical tool spindle, and an angle spindle attachment is detachably mounted on the lower surface of the spindle head. The angle spindle attachment carries an attachment spindle adapted to receive a cutting tool holder and rotatable by the tool spindle about an axis inclined relative to the axis of the tool spindle. The attachment spindle incorporates therein a draw bar mechanism wherein a draw bar is axially rearwardly urged by the resilient force of springs. To advance the draw bar against the springs, the angle spindle attachment is provided with a push rod movable in a horizontal direction. A thrust direction converting mechanism is further provided in the angle spindle attachment to axially moves the draw bar when the push rod is axially moved by an unclamping device. The unclamping device has an actuation rod, which is horizontally moved by a cylinder device to effect the axial movement of the push rod. When a horizontal spindle attachment is mounted on the spindle head in place of the angle spindle attachment, the unclamping device also operates to move a push rod which pushes a draw bar of the horizontal spindle attachment.

摘要： A machine tool having a turret head equipped with a plurality of multiple spindle units on the support stations thereof with the exception of one station rotatably supporting a tool spindle adapted to removably receive a tool, a tool storage magazine storing a plurality of "single" tools, and tool changing apparatus for interchanging the tools between the tool spindle and the tool storage magazine. The turret head may be rotated to successively position one of the multiple spindle units or the tool spindle at an operating position that confronts with the workpiece supported on the worktable such that the multiple spindle unit or the single tool on a tool spindle performs the machining operation on the workpiece. With regard to the tool changing operation for the single tool, the tool changing means may automatically interchange a tool in the tool spindle positioned at the operating position with respect to a tool presented into a changing position where it is immediately above the operating position by the rotational indexing of the tool storage magazine. Furthermore, there is provided an elevating head which mounts thereon the turret head, the tool storage magazine and the tool changing means, and also causes the tool storage magazine and the tool changing means to travel in a body relative to the workpiece such that the tool changing operation for the single tool may be initiated immediately when and where the machining operation is halted.
