    • Fold-down vehicle seat having a foldable seat cushion and a seat back foldable on to the seat cushion. In this seat, a link element is movably connected between the forward end portion of the seat cushion and a vehicle floor so as to be movable upwardly and downwardly. Also, a slide element is operatively provided between the backward end portion of the seat cushion and the vehicle floor, thereby allowing the seat cushion to be slidingly movable forwardly and backwardly of the seat. Thus, the seat cushion is foldable down to a folded-down storage position in the vehicle floor, with the seat back being foldable onto the seat cushion. A lock mechanism is provided between the slide element and seat cushion, so that the seat can be locked to the folded-down storage position and also adjustably locked to a desired seating height, in conjunction with the link and slide elements.

    • A structure of a casing for covering a stay of a cantilever-type headrest, in which the headrest is supported via the stay on a seat back of an automotive seat in a cantilever way, and the casing, which covers the stay, has a flat abutment surface formed at the upper end thereof which is abutted against one lateral wall of the headrest body, the flat abutment surface being formed with a cut-away portion for defining an opening therein. Hence, a region of such one lateral wall of headrest body, against which is abutted the flat abutment surface of the casing, is upheaved within the opening, so as to create plural undesired wrinkles only at that region and thus interiorly of the casing, which prevents the wrinkles from appearing on the outer surface of headrest body around the casing.

    • A monitoring apparatus for the use status of a car radio is disclosed. In addition to the function of identifying a radio station to which the car radio is tuned at any given time, the present apparatus is capable of identifying the individual actually in the driver's seat listening to that radio station, and of measuring the idle time during which the car radio could have been turned ON but actually was not. Also, the present apparatus has a rechargeable battery dedicated thereto, thereby to avoid overloading the vehicle-mounted storage battery used also for engine starter. Moreover, the present apparatus comprises a device for generating an excessive discharge alarm signal when the excessively discharged state of the rechargeable battery is detected. Furthermore, the present apparatus employs the radio station identification based on the detection of local oscillation frequency picked up at the tuner portion, which is in one to one correspondence with a radio station broadcast frequency.

    • A data collecting apparatus is used in a survey system in which research data such as television audience ratings and market research data is collected by a data collecting device provided in each of a plurality of panelists' homes, the collected research data is sent to a data center through telephone links, and, at the data center, the data is processed with the aid of a large scale computer to calculate desired research data.
