    • A check valve capable of improving the tightness between a sphere and a valve seat and suppressing the sinking is provided, so as to provide a liquid chromatography infusion pump enabling a high precision infusion even if in a low flow rate region. On a surface, contacted with the sphere, on the valve seat 10 of the check valve, a rim 10r is disposed around a through hole 10h in the center of the valve seat 10. The rim 10r is formed as a boundary between a concave spherical surface of a diameter Φ1 and a concave spherical surface of a diameter Φ2 disposed as concentric circles with the through hole 10h. When the sphere of a diameter ΦB abuts against the valve seat 10, the sphere 15 abuts against the valve seat 10 at the annular rim 10r in a line contact according to a relation of Φ1>ΦB>Φ2.

    • A solvent delivery pump is provided, which includes: a cylindrical pump chamber, an inside of which is made of metal; a plunger inserted from a tip end into the pump chamber to reciprocate in a certain direction to increase and decrease a capacity in the pump chamber; a capacity decreasing member made of resin and covering at least a portion of an inner wall of the pump chamber to reduce a clearance from the plunger; and a seal member provided to a plunger insertion portion of the pump chamber to come in sliding contact with an outer peripheral face of the plunger to seal the pump chamber. Preferable examples of the capacity decreasing member are a cylindrical sleeve covering at least a portion of an inner peripheral face of the pump chamber, a spacer disposed on an innermost face of the pump chamber to reduce a clearance from a tip end face of the plunger which has reached a top dead center, or both of the sleeve and the spacer.

    • A plunger seal and a backup ring are provided at a portion of a pump chamber through which a plunger is inserted. A back face of the backup ring is supported on a wall face of a cleaning chamber. The backup ring is a combined backup ring including two resin layers, i.e., a deformable resin layer and a non-deformable resin layer. A face of the backup ring in contact with the plunger seal is made up of a face of the deformable resin layer and an inner peripheral face is made up of a face of the non-deformable resin layer. The deformable resin layer has a higher elastic modulus than the plunger seal and having such an elastic modulus as to be able to absorb deformation of the plunger seal. The non-deformable resin layer has a higher elastic modulus than resin of the deformable resin layer.
