摘要： A lithium battery essentially consisting of an amorphous cathode active material mainly composed of V.sub.2 O.sub.5 and prepared by adding with at least one first additive selected from the group consisting of P.sub.2 O.sub.5, TeO.sub.2, GeO.sub.2, Sb.sub.2 O.sub.3, Bi.sub.2 O.sub.3 and B.sub.2 O.sub.3 and/or at least one second additive selected from the group consisting of MoO.sub.3 and WO.sub.3, heating to melt the admixture and then quenching the molten admixture; an anode active material made of metallic lithium or a lithium alloy; and an electrolyte made of a mixture of a aprotic solvent and a lithium salt. The battery is a small-sized and light-weight secondary battery having a high energy density and being improved in charge-discharge cycle lifetime.

摘要： A solid oxide fuel cell, which converts a chemical reaction between a fuel and air or oxygen into electric energy, and which is constructed by a solid electrolyte, an air electrode mounted adjacent to the solid electrolyte, a fuel electrode, and an inter-connector for connecting with other cell units is provided. The air electrode of the above fuel cell is made of a perovskite-type oxide material with a composition expressed by LnNi.sub.1-x Fe.sub.x O.sub.3 and YNi.sub.1-x Fe.sub.x O.sub.3 and wherein Ln represents lanthanide elements and x is in a range of 0.30 to 0.60. The perovskite-type oxide materials containing nickel and iron satisfy requirements to provide higher electronic conductivity than the conventional material and closer thermal expansion coefficient to that of the solid electrolyte than that of the conventional air electrode material.

摘要： Novel hydrofluorene derivatives and salts thereof represented by the formula (1) which possess excellent activities for improving anoxemic and hypoxic symptoms and syndromes accompanied therewith, therefore said derivatives are useful as cerebral activators, preventive agents for arrhythmia and heart failure caused by the shortage of oxygen and others. Furthermore, said hydrofluorene derivatives and salts thereof possess actions for scavenging active oxygen radicals, therefore, the derivatives are useful prophylactic and treating agents for various disturbances and diseases caused by the excessive formation of active oxygen radicals. In addition to the above, the hydrofluorene derivatives are useful as anti-oxidative agents for fats and oils.Yet, further, the hydrofluorene derivatives and salts thereof accelerate the uptaking of high-affinity choline in the central nerve system and/or the releasing of acetylcholine therefrom, therefore, the hydrofluorene derivatives and salts thereof are useful cholinergic nerve system activating agents.
