    • A signal processing method and device for measuring the input rate of an FM micro-gyro having a modulation frequency FM and having an oscillator sense element having a nominal frequency FOSC is disclosed.In a first aspect of the invention, the method comprises defining a first time interval TWN and a second time interval TWP and measuring the first time interval and the second time interval by counting the number of periods of a predetermined reference frequency. The nominal frequency of the oscillator sense element FOSC is measured along with the modulation frequency FM. From these measurements, the proof mass period NW is calculated. The time difference Δt is calculated from the above measurements. The method then comprises calculating a modulation M that produced the measured Δt, preferably using an iterative method.From the above, the input rate Ω is calculated by dividing M by a sensitivity S of the FM micro-gyro.The above method and other methods for signal processing for measuring the input rate of an FM micro-gyro are disclosed herein.

    • A power conserving electronic circuit is provided having one or more main electronic devices or components powered by the output of a voltage regulator circuit. The voltage regulator is powered by a first power input, such as a battery. A real time clock circuit enables the voltage regulator, which, in turn, enables the main devices. The real time clock further provides an enable/disable output to a switch circuit whereby the real time clock circuit is powered by the output of the voltage regulator when the main devices are active and powered from the battery when the main devices are inactive.
