    • A holding member for facilitating the cleaning of optical components includes two end walls and at least two spaced plates. The two end walls face toward each other. One of the two end walls defines at least one through slot. The at least two spaced plates are held between the two end walls and define at least one pair of respective inner surfaces. Each respective pair of inner surfaces has a pair of corresponding elongated grooves defined therein along a longitudinal direction thereof. Each slot communicates with a respective pair of elongated grooves. In particular, each such through slot and the respective pair of elongated grooves associated therewith are cooperatively aligned with one another in a manner so as to direct the optical components into the respective pair of corresponding elongated grooves.

    • An apparatus for cleaning an article includes a cover and a main body defining at least one upper through hole and at least one lower through hole in communication with the at least one upper through hole configured for accommodating the article. The cover defines at least one through hole positioned spatially corresponding to the at least one upper through hole of the main body. The main body and the cover are configured for attachment to each other in a manner such that the at least upper through hole of the main body is aligned with the at least one through hole of the cover. The at least one upper through hole is of such dimensions that the article accommodated therein is held from falling out through the at least one lower through hole and the through hole of the cover.

    • An exemplary zinc oxide nano-wire based actuator includes a first electrode, a second electrode opposite to the first electrode, and a zinc oxide nano-wire layer sandwiched between the first electrode and the second electrode. The zinc oxide nano-wire layer includes two opposite surfaces in contact with the first and the second electrodes respectively, and a plurality of zinc oxide nano-wires substantially parallel to each other. The first electrode and the second electrode are configured for cooperatively creating therebetween an electric field with an electric field direction substantially parallel to the zinc oxide nano-wires so as to adjust a thickness of the zinc oxide nano-wire layer, thereby moving the second electrode relative to the first electrode.

    • A working fluid for a heat pipe includes a liquid solvent; a plurality of nano-particles dispersed in the liquid solvent; and a polymer stability agent configured for preventing the nano-particles from aggregating in the liquid solvent. A method for manufacturing the working fluid includes the steps of: providing a vessel containing a liquid solvent containing a polymer stability agent dispersed therein, the polymer stability agent being configured for preventing the created nano-particles from aggregating in the liquid solvent; arranging a target in the liquid solvent; and bombarding the target to create nano-particles, whereupon the nano-particles are dispersed into the polar solvent, thereby obtaining the working fluid.
