    • A carbostyril derivative of the formula (1): ##STR1## wherein A is lower alkylene, R is H, halogen or lower alkoxy, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each lower alkyl being optionally substituted by OH, lower alkoxy, phenyl-lower alkoxy or lower alkanoyloxy; cycloalkyl being optionally substituted by OH, hydroxy-lower alkoxy or lower alkanoyloxy; or amino being optionally substituted by lower alkyl or cycloalkyl, R.sup.3 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl or hydroxy-lower alkyl, and the bond between 3- and 4-positions of the carbostyril nucleus is single or double, provided that when R and R.sup.3 are H, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 should not be either unsubstituted lower alkyl or unsubstituted cycloalkyl, or a salt thereof, which shows antithrombotic activities, intima thickening inhibitory activity, the platelet mass dissociating activity and increasing activity of the blood flow in the brain and the peripheral vessel, and hence, is useful as medicines in the prophylaxis or treatment of various ischemic diseases.

    • A welding carriage traveling with a welding torch mounted thereon includes: a carriage body; and a torch supporting part disposed between the front and rear ends of carriage body and supporting a tip of the welding torch in a state of positioning on a side surface side of the carriage body and facing diagonally downward. The torch supporting part includes a torch swinging unit and a weaving unit. The torch swinging unit includes a torch swinging mechanism which swings the tip of the welding torch in a forward and rearward direction of the carriage body, and thereby moves tip close to the welding line. The weaving unit includes a weaving mechanism which operates so as to integrally rotate a unit case and a torch mounting bar of the torch swinging unit about a screw, thereby to cause the welding torch to perform a weaving operation.

    • A cutting insert having excellent chip discharge performance is provided. In the cutting insert of the present invention, a bottom surface of a concave groove 21 includes a first bottom surface 211 continuous with a cutting edge part 5, and a second bottom surface 212 which is located on a side further remote from the cutting edge part 5 than the first bottom surface 211, and is located at a lower position than a virtual extension line L1 of an end portion of the first bottom surface 211 on a side remote from the cutting edge part 5. Further, a pair of inclined surfaces 23 are located on a side further remote from the cutting edge part 5 than the end portion of the first bottom surface 211 on the side remote from the cutting edge part 5 in a top view. Therefore, the diameter of generated chips decreases by the fact that the chips are curled while sinking in space formed at a lower position than the virtual extension line L1 of the first bottom surface 211. Consequently, the chip discharge direction is stabilized, thus achieving satisfactory chip discharge performance.

    • This invention has one object to provide a method of collecting calibration data in radiation tomography apparatus that allows reliable collection of calibration data with a wide detector ring. In order to achieve this purpose, in the method of collecting calibration data in radiation tomography apparatus according to this invention, the number of coincidence events is obtained while the phantom that emits annihilation gamma-ray pairs moves as to pass through an inner hole of the detector ring. Such configuration dose not need the phantom having a width equal or larger than the detector ring, and may realize reliable collection of calibration data. Moreover, it may be considered that annihilation gamma-ray pairs have been emitted in uniform property without depending on positions of the detector ring. As a result, calibration data that is more suitable for removal of a image artifact may be obtained.

For the maintenance of the PET gantry (3), the diagnosis apparatus is separated at an arbitrary PET unit (32) to be maintained, the apparatus slides on a rail (31) in the axis direction and is separated for maintenance operation. Accordingly, a large space for maintenance is not required and the area for installation is small.
