摘要： A liquid crystal display device is provided. The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel and an optical film assembly. The liquid crystal display panel includes two substrates and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the substrates, and has a plurality of multi-domains defined in a unit pixel. The optical film assembly includes a biaxial film and a polarizing film formed integrally with the biaxial film. Moreover, the biaxial film is disposed near to the liquid crystal cell.

摘要： An array substrate includes a plate, a switching element, an insulating layer and a pixel electrode. The plate includes a pixel region, and the switching element is disposed on the plate. The insulating layer is disposed on the plate to include an opening for a multi-domain disposed in the pixel region and a contact hole. An electrode of the switching element is partially exposed through the contact hole. The pixel electrode is disposed on the insulating layer corresponding to the pixel region, an inner surface of the opening for the multi-domain and an inner surface of the contact hole so that the pixel electrode is electrically connected to the electrode of the switching element. Therefore, the viewing angle and the image display quality of the LCD apparatus are improved, and a manufacturing process is simplified.

摘要： A display panel according to one aspect of the present invention includes a lower substrate, an upper substrate and a liquid crystal layer. The lower substrate includes a plate, a switching element, an insulating layer, a transmission electrode and a protrusion. The plate has a transmission region through which a light may pass. 摘要： An LCD apparatus including a first member, a second member, a liquid crystal layer and an optical film assembly is presented. A phase delay of the optical film assembly is about −α. In a normally white mode, the phase delay of the liquid crystal layer is about (λ/2)+α when no voltage is applied and about “α” when voltage is applied. In a normally black mode, the phase delay of the liquid crystal layer is about “α” when no voltage is applied, and about (λ/2)+α when voltage is applied. The phase delay between the liquid crystal layer when voltage is applied and the liquid crystal layer when voltage is not applied is about λ/2. “α” is a positive number. By manipulating the value of α, power consumption can be reduced. For example, the apparatus can be driven with a voltage below 2.5 V.
