    • A seal for a cable connector used to connect cables and the like to a partition or a housing provides that one size of seal can be used with a wider range of cable sizes than existing seals. The seal for the connector has a substantially tubular body made from elastomeric material. The body has a cylindrical inner surface, a frusto-conical outer surface extending from a small end with a curved lip at the small end. A large end at the other end of the tubular body and recesses formed in the tubular body between the inner surface and the outer surface, making the tubular body compressible.

    • A cable connector for connecting cables and the like to a partition or housing, provides improved grounding and utilizes an elastomeric seal to prevent leaks. One size of connector can take a wider range of cable sizes than known connectors. The connector comprises a rigid tubular housing with external attachment means for attachment to an aperture in a partition, the housing having passage therethrough for a cable and a curved shoulder in the passage. A tubular seal having a cylindrical inner surface, a frusto-conical outer surface extending from a small end, a curved lip at the small end where the outer surface and the inner surface join, the curved lip adapted to sit against the curved shoulder in the passage, and a threaded cover to push the seal so that the curved lip of the seal is swivelled inwards and is adapted to contact the cable in the housing.

    • Electrical wiring box arrangements comprise a wiring box with end, side, and rear walls and a cable clamp. The wiring box wall structure is provided with knock-out regions, a first cable-engaging means, and means for attaching the cable clamp to a wall having knock-out regions.The cable clamp comprises a flexible flat sheet, attachable at one end to the box wall structure interior to the box. The opposite end of the cable clamp is provided with a foot portion, formed at an acute dihedral angle with the main body of the clamp.A non-metallic sheathed electrical cable inserted through a knock-out opening in the box wall structure, deflects the unattached end of the clamp inwardly into the box, engaging the cable against removal from the knock-out opening in an outward direction by the action of the first cable-engaging means and the heel of the clamp foot portion bearing oppositely against the cable sheath.

    • Electrical bushing and cable clamp device for non-metallic sheathed cable. The clamp device has a body member with passageway for cable and clamping members selectively insertable in the passageway for clamping a variety of cable sizes. Clamping members are tethered to the body member by flexible and resilient tether strips which bias the clamping members when inserted into the passageway.The bushing and cable clamp device provides for insertion of a cable in the device either prior to or subsequent to installation of the device in an electrical wiring box and for facile repositioning of a cable clamped in the device without the need for tools.

    • An electrical outlet box is formed from side plates and an U-shaped plate forming top, bottom and rear walls. The side plate has bosses, projecting outwardly from the box to ensure that the box is uniformly spaced from a vertical surface, for example the side of a stud. To facilitate mounting of the box to a stud, at least one boss has an aperture therein for receiving a screw or other fastener. Preferably, this aperture has an axis angled so that the axis passes through the front opening of a box. The bosses with apertures can include planar central portions for receiving a screw head and further can have an outer portion to the aperture for receiving part of a screw head to minimize protrusion of the screw head into the box. The screw head is then recessed away from the interior of the box to prevent shorting of electrical context, and as it is located in a boss contacting the stud or other surface, unwanted distortion of the side plate is avoided.

    • A cable connector clamp for an insulated electrical cable is preferably integrally moulded from a resilient plastic material. It has a cylindrical housing defining a passage for the cable, and a slot to permit its insertion into a knock out or opening of an enclosure wall. Within the housing, there is a clamping element extending across the passage and resiliently deflectable, to permit insertion of a cable. The clamping element includes a clamping lip that is resiliently pressed against the cable to prevent its withdrawal from the connective clamp. To assist in clamping the cable, one or both of a clamping lip of reduced thickness at the free end of the clamping element, and additional projections on the inner wall of the housing are provided. The additional projections have abutment faces, perpendicular to the axis of the housing and facing the second end of it.

    • Connector means for use in connecting a corrugated conduit, of the type having longitudinally spaced-apart circular ribs on at least its outer surface, to an electrical box or other members. The connector means, in one embodiment, employs a tubular element on the box and the tubular element is provided with a slot. The conduit is axially inserted into the tubular element. A wedge is wedged in the slot so as to project into a groove between two adjacent ribs on the conduit to secure the conduit in the tubular element. In another embodiment, the connector means includes a wall in the box having a hole through which the conduit is passed. A wedge is inserted in the gap between the wall edge defining the hole, and the conduit, to lock the conduit in place.
