    • A control input of an electrical device is disclosed, which is resistant to parasitic currents and which is especially suitable for a large bandwidth of various driving voltages. For this purpose, a control input circuit includes a constant current sink connected to a control line, whose current consumption during the duration of the detection pulse assumes a detection value relative which the power consumption between two successive detection pulses is reduced. The circuit also includes an evaluation module that analyzes the input current flowing in the control line and that indicates a control signal if, during the detection pulse, the input current does not fall below a predetermined switch-on value for a predetermined duty cycle.

    • According to an embodiment of the invention, a motor starter includes a connection module, which includes a second and third interface, wherein the second interface is electrically conductively connected to the third interface. The security evaluation unit can be mechanically coupled to the connection module so that an electrically conductive connection is produced between the first and second interfaces. The secure switch unit can be mechanically coupled to the connection module so that an electrically conductive connection between the third and fourth interfaces is produced, so that, in the coupled state of the security evaluation unit and the secure switch unit to the connection module; there is an electrically conductive connection between the first and fourth interfaces via the connection module, so that the control command can be transmitted from the security evaluation unit via the connection module to the secure switch unit.

    • A switching device and method are disclosed for terminating a braking process of a three-phase AC motor. The braking process of the AC motor is performed by way of a first and second thyristor. During the braking process of the AC motor, in a first step the first thyristor is actuated in such a way that a braking current is fed to the AC motor, and therefore a torque which brakes the AC motor is produced. In a second step the second thyristor is actuated in such a way that, when the first thyristor is quenched, the braking current is taken on by the second thyristor and the braking torque is maintained. The two steps are repeated during the braking process; wherein the second step is suppressed during the braking process after a last actuation of the first thyristor.
