摘要： Positive hatch door closing is assured in an elevator master door operator system. If the hatch door does not lock within one second after the close limit switch opens the circuit on the master door operator, the close limit switch is bypassed allowing the master door operator to drive the hatch doors until the lock indication is received. When driving beyond the close limit of the car gate, the counterweight on the vertically movable gate is slowly raised. Means are provided to slowly lower the counterweight thereby returning the car mounted portion of the drive coupling between the car door operator and the hatch door operator to the normal closed position after the hatch door lock indication is received.

摘要： Elevator cars suspended from opposite ends of a traction driven hoist cable counterbalance each other and provide ideal spacing between cars serving two terminal floors such as a main floor and a sky lobby. A leveling device on one or both cars provides for adjustment of the position of the associated car relative to the hoist cable to accommodate for cable stretch and settling of the building so that each car can be brought into exact registry with the adjacent landing. The cars can be arranged to stop at pairs of intermediate floors located equal distances from the two terminal floors and can be further arranged to distribute load in opposite directions from a third terminal located halfway between the first and second terminals. The counterbalanced cars can be combined with a second elevator system, either a conventional system or a counterbalanced system, for sky lobby operation with the counterbalanced car system providing either the shuttle service, the local service or both.

A perforated sill, in combination with a source of radiant energy provides a plurality of vertical beams of radiant energy spaced across the entranceway. 摘要： Mechanical safety edges mounted on the leading edges of the elevator car doors are projected into the path of the hoistway doors during door closing to protect objects from being struck by either the car doors or hoistway doors. A toggle device restrains a harmonic motion mechanism from extending the safety edges when the doors are preopened as the car approaches a landing. The edges can be adapted for use in conjunction with radiant energy detecting devices.
