摘要： A planar light emitting device has a planar light emitter. It has a layered structure composed of a transparent body and a semi-transparent body. The transparent body is made of a transparent synthetic resin containing no light scattering material. The semi-transparent body is made of a semi-transparent synthetic resin containing a light scattering material. The transparent body and the semi-transparent body are joined to form a diffusion layer therebetween. An LED array is disposed at one side of the planar light emitter. The diffusion layer has a sea-islands structure. An island resin has a dimension of 0.1 to 50 microns. The light entering the island resin attenuates therein without reflecting at once due to its complicated shape. Namely, the light entering the diffusion layer generates uniform brightness.

摘要： An opposed reflecting mirror is provided so as to face a light source. The opposed reflecting mirror is configured to reflect light rays, emitted from the light source, so as to allow the reflected light rays to advance in a predetermined direction. A light guide body having a plurality of reflecting surfaces is provided to permit the incidence of light rays supplied from the opposed reflecting mirror and to reflect the incident light rays. The plurality of reflecting surfaces are located at different positions in a sliding split manner along the direction of light rays supplied from the opposed reflecting mirror. By virtue of this construction, a light emitting apparatus can be provided in which, while making the best use of a feature of LED, i.e., a small thickness, impressive illumination of an elongated shape by one light emitting device and high external emission efficiency can be realized. The arrangement of a plurality of light emitting apparatuses of the above type at predetermined intervals can provide on-vehicle or other displays of a novel and unconventional design.

摘要： A heat-sensitive hot-melt image transfer sheet transfers an ink image to a recording sheet when selectively heated by the heating element of the thermal head of a thermal printer. The image transfer sheet comprises a base coated on a surface thereof with a matrix of circular hot-melt ink dots at a constant pitch. The hot-melt ink dots are selectively meltable with heat applied through the base by the heating elements for transferring an ink image to the recording sheet held against the matrix of hot-melt ink dots.

In the method, after forming an initial character image on an ink layer in black of the ink ribbon, a forefront of the ink layer is aligned with a forefront position of an intermediate transfer film. Then, overwrite character image data is applied on a thermal head to produce a first superimpose character image on the ribbon and a first superimpose character image on the film. After that, the forefront position of the ink layer is shifted from the forefront position of the film by a predetermined distance and the overwrite character image data is applied on the thermal head to produce a second superimpose character image on the ribbon and a second superimpose character image on the film.
