    • This invention provides an engaging member of a fastening device integrally molded of synthetic resin which enables sewing thereof to clothes easily and accurately, ensures ease and smoothness in an operation for opening the engaging member of the fastening device even if it is molded relatively thick, and prevents too much force being applied to a sewing yarn by an external force upon the opening operation thereby ensuring durability and contributes to reduction of production cost. The engaging member of the fastening device is integrally molded with a substantially J-shaped section, consisting first and second flat plate portions substantially parallel with different lengths and made of thermoplastic synthetic resin material, whose each of end portions is connected via a connecting portion, wherein a number of engaging elements are formed on the surface of the first flat plate portion having a larger area such that they are in an upright position and a groove-like sewing line is formed along an entire peripheral edge portion thereof, a groove-like sewing line whose end portions are open is formed corresponding to part of the sewing line formed on the first flat plate portion on the second flat plate portion having a smaller area, and a tab made of the same resin material is molded integrally on the connecting portion so as to project outward from the connecting portion in parallel to the flat plate portions.

    • An abrasive substrate is removably provided between a head portion and an abrasive member in a carry type abrasive machine. The abrasive substrate is constituted by a single synthetic resin molded member formed of the same material, and a hardness in a peripheral portion is set to be lower than that in a central portion excluding the peripheral edge portion. A difference in the hardness between the central portion and the peripheral portion is regulated by a concavo-convex surface formed on a surface at the fixing side to the head portion of the carry type abrasive machine. It is desirable that the concavo-convex surface should be constituted by a plurality of rib-shaped projections formed on the same plane. The abrasive substrate of the carry type abrasive machine can be manufactured inexpensively and can carry out a reliable and stable abrasion work.

    • A releasable catch for holding together they body of a bag and a flap of the bag includes a plug member attached to the flap and having a resiliently deformable locking tongue, and a socket member attached at its one end to the bag body and having a gate-shaped locked portion disposed adjacent the one end of the socket member for slidably receiving and thereafter locking the resiliently deformable locking tongue to couple the plug member and the socket member. The releasable catch thus constructed is sightly in appearance, can be manipulated reliably with utmost ease, and damages neither itself nor another article upon impingement with the latter.
