    • A system for determining whether a motor in an electrical submersible pump is backspinning is described herein. The system comprises a sensor mounted in a well bore proximate to a ground surface, the sensor outputting a backspin signal; a communication link connected to the sensor, the communications link communicating the backspin signal; and a controller receiving the backspin signal from the communications link and processing the backspin signal to determine whether the motor is backspinning. Computer readable instructions associated with the system perform the steps of: monitoring the signal to determine whether the signal is above a threshold, the threshold for determining whether the signal is a noise signal or a backspin signal, and outputting the backspin signal; impeding operable AC power to the motor, responsive to the backspin signal; monitoring the backspin signal to determine whether the backspin signal is below the threshold; and returning AC power to the motor responsive to the determination that the backspin signal is below the threshold.

    • Outdoor high velocity wall and pedestal mounted fans, devices, apparatus, systems and methods of operation. The fans can have water resistant motor housings with at most one rear wall located opening for allowing a power cord to pass therethrough. The switches and pull chains are connected to the fan only through the bottom of the motor housing. The bottom of the motor housing can have a drainage hole for allowing excess moisture to drain therefrom. The motor housing can be stainless steel. Additionally, the motor housing can have a powder coat finish on all parts to reduce corrosion. The motor can be an oversized inverted outdoor rated oscillating motor having improved gear mechanisms for big torques and reduces heat rise during fan operation. The fan can operate under hot and cold temperature extremes as well as during wet and dry environmental conditions.

    • The invention proposes a valve train (1) of an internal combustion engine comprising a tappet (7) and a tappet pushrod (1) that is actuated by said tappet (7), said tappet pushrod (1) being at least partly hollow and comprising on one end (3), a first support (4) for a pressure piston (5) of a hydraulic lash adjuster (6) of said tappet (7) that follows a periodic driving element such as a cam. A second support (9) for a follower member (2) such as a rocker arm is arranged on a further end (8) of the tappet pushrod (1). The first support (4) comprises a passage (10) for hydraulic medium that can be routed out of the pressure piston (5) during operation of the internal combustion engine into an interior (11) of the tappet pushrod (1), a one-way valve means (12) being installed in the tappet pushrod (1) for retaining a hydraulic medium column during a standstill of the internal combustion engine. In this way, an additional reservoir for hydraulic medium is created that serves for the rapid filling of the pressure piston (5) immediately after a re-starting of the internal combustion engine.
