摘要： The present invention is generally directed to adhesive compositions comprising selected ratios of crystalline and amorphous polymers. In some versions of the invention, polymers capable of existing in different configurations (e.g., a polymer such as polypropylene which can exist in an atactic, syndiotactic. or isotactic configuration) is used to prepare adhesives of the present invention. As an example, a selected amount of isotactic polypropylene is blended with a selected amount of atactic polypropylene to prepare an adhesive composition having one or more performance properties (e.g., bond strength) that are superior to the performance properties of a conventional hot-melt adhesive.

摘要： Bonded composites, absorbent articles comprising such bonded composites, and processes for bonding thin-section elements. The bonded composite has first and second thin-section elements bonded to each other, at least in part by bond elements and at least in part by adherent material. The adherent material is disposed between the first and second thin-section elements proximate and about the bond elements. The adherent material, at least in part, bonds the thin-section elements to each other at loci of the adherent material. The bond patterns are arranged and configured to preferentially direct stresses imposed on the bond pattern, inwardly into the interior of the bond pattern for distribution, dissipation, and termination.

摘要： An absorbent article includes an absorbent pad and an outer cover. The absorbent pad includes an absorbent core enveloped by a first layer and a second barrier layer. The first layer and the second barrier layer are secured to each other outwardly of a perimeter of the absorbent core. A deformable third layer is disposed in the absorbent article between the first layer and an outer cover. The deformable layer is adhesively secured to the inner surface of the outer cover. There is no significant securement between the deformable layer and the first layer. In embodiments where the outer cover is extensible in a cross-direction and/or a longitudinal direction, the deformable layer deforms during extension of the outer cover, but such deforming has no significant harmful effect on the first layer. Therefore, damage to the first layer, the second barrier layer, or the absorbent pad, and concomitant release of superabsorbent material from the absorbent pad, is avoided.

摘要： A disposable absorbent article includes a multi-functional fastening system which includes a pair of primary fasteners which are located on the opposed side edges in one of the waist regions of the absorbent article. The primary fasteners are configured to releasably engage the opposite waist region of the absorbent article. The fastening system also includes at least one secondary fastener which is located in one of the waist regions of the absorbent article. The secondary fastener is configured to releasably engage the opposite waist region of the absorbent article to conform the waist regions of the article to a wearer's body after the primary fasteners have been releasably engaged. The primary fasteners may be prefastened to allow the disposable absorbent article to be pulled on or off over the wearer's hips. The fastening system may further include a belt segment to which the secondary fasteners are attached.
