摘要： A method and computer product are presented for identifying Internet worm propagation based upon changes in packet arrival rates at a network connection. First, unsolicited (i.e., packets that were not requested by the receiver) traffic is separated from solicited traffic at the network connection. The unsolicited traffic arrival patterns are monitored and analyzed for any changes. Once changes in the unsolicited traffic arrival patterns are detected, the changes are mathematically analyzed to detect growth trends. The presence of growth trends that follow certain key characteristics indicate whether the changes are due to worm propagation.

摘要： An embodiment of the exemplary SoftRouter architecture includes two physically separate networks, a control plane network and a data plane network. The data plane network is one physical network for the data traffic, while the control plane network is another physical network for the control traffic. The topology of the data plane network is made up of interconnected forwarding elements (FEs). The topology of the control plane network is made up interconnected control elements (CEs). This physical independence of the control plane network from the data plane network provides for a secure mechanism to communicate among the CEs in the control plane network. In addition, this physical independence provides improved reliability and improved scalability, when compared to the traditional router architecture, where control plane message are in-band with the data plane.

摘要： An apparatus for mixing audio signals in a voice-over-IP teleconferencing environment comprises a preprocessor, a mixing controller, and a mixing processor. The preprocessor is divided into a media parameter estimator and a media preprocessor. The media parameter estimator estimates signal parameters such as signal-to-noise ratios, energy levels, and voice activity (i.e., the presence or absence of voice in the signal), which are used to control how different channels are mixed. The media preprocessor employs signal processing algorithms such as silence suppression, automatic gain control, and noise reduction, so that the quality of the incoming voice streams is optimized. Based on a function of the estimated signal parameters, the mixing controller specifies a particular mixing strategy and the mixing processor mixes the preprocessed voice streams according the strategy provided by the controller.

摘要： Biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles comprising an inner core formed of a photodynamic agent capable of being activated to generate cytotoxic singlet oxygen are prepared. These nanoparticles have anti-cell proliferation activity and are useful in treating both cancerous and non-cancerous conditions including actinic keratosis, psoriasis and acne vulgaris. Preferably, the photodynamic agent is a hypocrellin B derivative while the polymeric nanoparticle comprises polyglycolic acid, polylactic acid or poly(lactide-co-glycolide). Hypocrellin-comprising nanoparticles are demonstrated to be activated by light or hydrogen peroxide.
