    • Disclosed is a method for removing loose scale and other foreign matter from the top and/or bottom face of a cast product (3), such as a slab, thin slab, profiled element, or similar, with the aid of flowable media which are sprayed onto the cast product (3) by means of a cleaning device (5) comprising at least one spraying apparatus (8, 9) that is disposed above the cast product (3) and at least one spraying apparatus (8, 9) that is arranged below the cast product (3). According to said method, the amount of media and/or the effective width and/or the pressure of the media is/are controlled separately and independently of time for each spraying apparatus (8, 9). The invention also relates to a device for removing loose scale and other foreign matter from the top and/or bottom face of a cast product (3) with the aid of flowable media which are sprayed onto the cast product (3) by means of a cleaning device (5) comprising at least one spraying apparatus (8, 9) located above the cast product (3) and at least one spraying apparatus (8, 9) located below the cast product (3). The spraying apparatuses (8, 9) and/or the nozzles (13) that are placed on the spraying apparatuses (8, 9) are configured so as to respond via a controller/a guiding system.

    • A tundish carriage for a double-strand continuous caster has a carriage frame displaceable on rails straddling a pair of parallel-wall or funnel-shaped continuous casting billet molds. The frame is of trapezoidal configuration with one relatively long beam and one relatively short beam connected by transverse beams at vertices provided with bolsters riding on the rails and with units for raising and lowering the trough for receiving the molten metal. The casting tubes extend downwardly from the trough and can be individually aligned with the respective molds without affecting the position of the other casting tube, utilizing an adjusting device at each bolster connecting a transverse beam with the longer of the longitudinal beams.

    • The invention relates to a device for the continuous casting of metals, especially steel, for use in a solidified-bending method. Said device comprises, downstream of the continuous casting mold, a straight strand guide (1) and a bending device (3) that releases the cast strand path (2a) so that the cold strand (5) can be introduced. The object of the invention is to utilize the height of the device that has so far not been used for supporting the strand or to reduce the height of the entire installation. To this end, the bending device (3) comprises a folding segment (9) that is pivoted on the fixed side (1a) and that is provided with a row of rollers (10) that limit the bending path (3c) in the operational position. The bending device further comprises on the loose side (1b) a loose element (11) that can be swiveled into the operational position (3b) or that can be swiveled out from this position. The bending rollers (3a) of said loose element form the counter-rollers (3d) to the row of rollers (10) in the operational position (3b).
