    • A control device for continuously variable transmission includes an operating state detection means for detecting an operating state of a vehicle including a vehicle speed and an accelerator pedal opening, a control means for controlling a speed ratio of a continuously variable transmission based on the operating state, an acceleration request determination means for determining the presence or absence of an acceleration request of a driver based on the accelerator pedal opening, and a speed ratio setting means for setting a speed reduction ratio controlled by the control means to be smaller with an increase in an acceleration start vehicle speed if the accelerator pedal opening is equal during acceleration. The control means updates the acceleration start vehicle speed to a vehicle speed at the time of a determination after determining that the accelerator pedal opening has been increased during acceleration.

    • A curving tendency detection device is provided to detecting a curving tendency (curving frequency and amount of curvature) in a vehicle roadway or a vehicle running state (behavior). Basically, the curving tendency detection device has a lateral acceleration differential value calculation section and a curving tendency estimation section. The lateral acceleration differential value calculation section calculates vehicle lateral acceleration differential values of a vehicle lateral acceleration acting on a vehicle as the vehicle lateral acceleration varies over time. The curving tendency estimation section estimates the curving tendency based on the vehicle lateral acceleration differential value calculated by the lateral acceleration differential value calculation section. Thus, the curving can be reliably detected by effectively avoiding a false curving tendency in cases in which the left and right wheels have different effective diameters, or the vehicle is driving straight along a laterally tilted road.

    • An automatic transmission shift control apparatus is basically provided with deceleration operating condition detecting section, a first shift phase control section and a second shift phase control section. The deceleration operating condition detecting section detects a vehicle coasting condition. The first shift phase control section control a gear ratio of an automatic transmission installed in a vehicle using a first shift phase control after detecting the vehicle coasting condition has started such that a deceleration rate of the vehicle enters a deceleration region. The second shift phase control section control the gear ratio of the automatic transmission after the first shift phase control ends such that the deceleration rate of the vehicle enters a constant speed region.
