    • An improved hand-held motor-driven oscillating razor for wet shaving provides a substantially vibration-free gripping during the shaving. The razor comprises a grip housing adapted to be gripped by the hand of a user and a shaver head movably supported on top of the grip housing. The shaver head carries a razor blade element and includes a weight which is driven by a motor to impart oscillatory movement to the shaver head. The motor is mounted within the shaver head together with the weight so as to confine an oscillatory system within the shaver head. A damper member is utilized to singly support the shaver head to the grip housing in order to made the shaver head movable with respect to the grip housing such that the grip housing can be isolated substantially from the oscillatory system in the shaver head, permitting the shaver head to oscillate substantially indpendently of the grip housing, thereby minimizing a counter-vibration transmitted back to the grip housing from the shaver head. The damper member is preferably configured to exhibit different elasticity in differing directions in order to minimize the counter vibration which the user feels during the shaving, while assuring effective shaving.

    • A self-contained electric shaver capable of being used with water and powered from either a main or a reserve rechargeable battery comprises a housing having thereon a shaving head and accommodating therein the main and reserve rechargeable batteries. The housing also accommodates a motor drivingly connected to the shaving head for effecting a hair shearing operation. Terminal pins adapted to be connected to an external battery charger for feeding an electric charging current to the batteries extend in a sealed manner through respective apertures formed in the lower end wall of the housing. At least one drain pipe extends in a sealed manner through a vent hole also formed in the lower end wall for passing out of the housing the gas discharged from the batteries upon charging thereof. The terminal pins and the drain pipe, all concentrated to the lower end wall to extend therethrough, are sealed with respect to the corresponding apertures and vent hole for preventing the outside water from entering interior of the housing while allowing the discharged gas to be drained out of the housing.

    • The present invention concerns a slide fastener making machine designed to produce space sections of required span devoid of coupling elements at predetermined intervals in the interengaged slide fastener chain and a method for the same. The present apparatus includes: die means facing the fastener tapes for supporting the slide fastener chain horizontally; punch means disposed on the coupling elements side and being reciprocably movable toward the coupling element, said punch means having at the end surface a pair of laterally spaced apart cutting edges for cutting the upper leg portion of the pair of interengaged coupling elements at the connecting reversed portion side of the sewing thread and a gripping projection disposed centrally between the pair of the cutting edges for pressing the upper leg portions adjacent the interengaging head portions of the interengaged coupling elements; ejector means disposed in the die means reciprocably movable toward the gripping projection of the punch means, said punch means being upwardly movable in response to the upward movement of the ejector means while the upper leg portions adjacent to the interengaging head portions of the interengaged coupling elements is gripped between the edge of the ejector means and the gripping projection of the punch means; and means for holding the pair of fastener tapes. The coupling elements cut by the cutting edges or the dismembered coil fragments are suitable flattened by the gripping projection of the punch and the ejector so that they are released of the clinching tension of the sewing thread and get loose enough to be pulled out easily.
