    • Disclosed is a preset plate for a VHF tuner, having a first and a second rotary bodies which are unitarily mounted on a main shaft of the VHF tuner. The first rotary plate has a plurality of coils corresponding to respective channels to be selected and a number of switching contact pieces, while the second rotary body carries a plurality of fine-adjusting screws for getting into and out of the cavities of respective coils for varying the inductance thereof. Stationary contact members are fixed on the frame of the tuner for engaging the successive switching contact pieces as the preset plate is rotated around the axis of the main shaft. The second rotary body has a plurality of axially projecting portions located between each adjacent switching contact pieces for engaging the stationary contact member at a portion of the latter other than the contact area for electrical contact with the switching contact pieces, during the rotation of the preset plate, so as to move the stationary contact member away from the plane of the switching contact pieces, so as to avoid frictional sliding engagement of the switching contact pieces with the stationary contact member, thereby to avoid the wear of contacts and, accordingly, to improve durability of the preset plate.

    • A plurality of fine tuning elements are mounted on a disc which is rotatable by a selector shaft so that a selected tuning element is in a tuning position. Each tuning element comprises a screw with a gear mounted at the end thereof. A tuning shaft is rotatable and translatable on the selector shaft and has an actuator disc and a tuning gear fixed thereto. An idler shaft has first and second gears fixed thereto and is normally held in a tilted inoperative position by a spring. The tuning shaft is manually translatable so that the actuator disc engages with the idler shaft and tilts the same against the force of the spring in such a manner that the first and second gears engage with the tuning gear and the gear of the selected tuning element respectively to drivably connect the tuning shaft to the screw of the desired tuning element.

    • A CATV selection device adapted to convert the desired CATV signal into a vacant channel frequency of the TV set and to deliver the vacant channel frequency as an output to make it possible to watch the desired CATV broadcasting. The device has an input terminal adapted to receive both of the TV broadcasting signal and the CATV broadcasting signal, an output terminal for delivering the broadcasting signal to the input terminal of a TV set, a conversion circuit adapted to receive the CATV broadcasting signal corresponding to the selected channel into the vacant channel frequency of the TV set, and electronic switch circuit adapted to effect a switching between a first mode in which the broadcasting signal from said input terminal is bypassed to the output terminal and a second mode in which the same broadcasting signal is delivered to the conversion circuit, and a selection section having push buttons for selecting the desired CATV broadcasting channel and a bypass button for bypassing the broadcasting signal from the input terminal to the output terminal.
