    • In a 3-dimensional animation generating apparatus which uses a computer, the user generates a number of static images having parent-child relationships and which serve as key frames in the sequence from the start to the end of the animation, a number of animation frames specified by the user being automatically inserted between the key frames by means of interpolation. In this 3-dimensional animation generating apparatus, the times of each of the key frames as specified by the user are stored, the parent object coordinates and child object coordinates generated by the user are stored in a world coordinate system, along with parent-child relationship in each of the key frames. When the 3-dimensional animation generating apparatus generates interpolated frames, the parent-child relationship in neighboring key frames in the time sequence is interpolated to first generate the parent-child relationship existing in the interpolated frame, after which the parent object coordinates in the interpolated frame are calculated in the world coordinate system by interpolating the parent object coordinates in each of the neighboring key frames. The coordinates of a child object in an interpolated frame are determined from the parent-child relationship within the interpolated frame and the parent object coordinates in the interpolated frame. The animation is thus generated from the interpolated frame parent object coordinates, the interpolated frame child object coordinates, and the parent-child relationship.

    • Speech data containing waveform data is extracted from an existing speech waveform dictionary and input. A part used for speech synthesis in the waveform data is specified, and a starting point and an ending point for compression are set before and after the part. The waveform data is compressed with respect to a compression interval specified by the starting point and the ending point for compression. The compressed waveform data is expanded, and the compression interval, in which an expansion result of the compressed waveform data has highest quality, is determined as a compression/expansion position. The compressed waveform data, and the starting point and the ending point for compression are registered in a database as waveform data used for speech synthesis.

    • An erroneous detection determination device includes: a signal acquisition unit configured to acquire, from each of microphones, a plurality of audio signals relating to ambient sound including sound from a sound source in a certain direction; a result acquisition unit configured to acquire a recognition result including voice activity information indicating the inclusion of a voice activity relating to at least one of the audio signals; a calculation unit configured to calculate, for each of audio signals on the basis of the signals in respective unit times and the certain direction, a speech arrival rate representing the proportion of the sound from the certain direction to the ambient sound in each of the unit times; and an error detection unit configured to determine, on the basis of the recognition result and the speech arrival rate, whether or not the voice activity information is the result of erroneous detection.
