    • Herein disclosed a disc type electromagnetic valve which is disposed in the passage of a fluid represented by pressurized gases or air for controlling the flow of the fluid. In a casing at the back of a stator, there is formed a chamber in which a diaphragm is arranged. This diaphragm has its radially inner side connected to either a movable receiver of a spring for biasing an armature apart from the attracting surface of the stator or the armature. The chamber at the back of the diaphragm is caused to communicate with a communication passage of the pressurized fluid through a passage hole which extends through the armature and a valve member. When the pressure of the fluid exerted upon the valve member fluctuates, the diaphragm is moved to automatically adjust the seating force of the valve member against a valve seat.

    • A radial piston pump for low-viscosity fuel according to a first aspect of the invention comprises a pump housing, which is constituted of as few as two structural bodies (from among a drive-side housing member 2A, a fixed cylinder 81 and a cover 4), and a leaf valve member 82 which is formed with intake valves 87 for opening and closing intake side passages 27 and discharge valves 88 for opening and closing discharge side passages 28 and is sandwiched between two structural bodies (fixed cylinder 81 and cover 4). The first aspect of the invention reduces the number of components constituting the pump housing, enables highly precise overall axial alignment, prevents wobbling of a pump shaft 9 of the pump, increases performance and reliability and reduces cost. A radial piston pump for low-viscosity fuel according to a second aspect of the invention comprises a leaf valve member 205 formed in one and the same plane thereof with overflow ports communicating with an overflow passage 59 in the pump housing, intake valves 87 communicating with intake side passages 27 and discharge valves 88 communicating with discharge side passages 28. The third aspect of the invention provides a method for assembling the radial piston pump for low-viscosity fuel according to the second aspect of the invention.

    • A fuel injection apparatus comprises a first storing device for temporarily storing cut-off fuel drained after the termination of a fuel injection, a second storing device of changeable volume for temporarily storing fuel for intake, the second storing device having a movable member which is movable in response to the quantity of fuel introduced therein, a detector for producing a detection signal showing an actural position of the movable member and a clamping device responsive to an electric signal for clamping the movable member. The clamping device is actuated to clamp the movable member in response to the detection signal when the desired amount of fuel is stored therein. The adjusted quantity of fuel stored in the second storing device is supplied to a high pressure chamber together with the cut-off fuel stored in the first storing device during the next fuel intake stroke of a fuel injection pump. As a result, extremely high accuracy control of fuel quantity can be realized.
