    • An outside mirror with a wiper is disclosed. The outside mirror includes a mirror drive motor and a wiper drive motor for a wiper. The wiper drive motor is mounted for rotation about an axis perpendicular to the mirror drive motor. The wiper is spring biased against the mirror to follow the movement thereof. As the mirror pivots about a vertical axis, a wiper guide urges the drive motor to pivot correspondingly so that the wiper follows the mirror surface. As the mirror pivots about a horizontal axis, the spring biased wiper follows the mirror to maintain the proper wiping contact with the mirror.

    • A vehicle seat assembly having a substantially horizontal seat member and a normally upright backrest pivoted relative to the seat member is locked in one of a plurality of selectable positions lengthwise of a stationary guide fixed to the vehicle floor. A seat position memory element is provided having a first latch which is selectively engageable with the stationary guide and a slide member which is slidably carried on the stationary guide. The slide member has a second latch which normally engages the stationary guide to lock the seat assembly in position and is disengaged therefrom when the backrest is folded forward to permit the seat assembly to move forward. A control shaft is rotatably carried on the slide member and arranged to coact with the first and second latches. Upon rotation of the control shaft, the first and second latches are disengaged from the stationary guide to move the seat to a selected position. Restoring of the control shaft causes the first and second latches to come into engagement with the stationary guide. When the backrest is folded forward to move the seat forward, the first latch remains engaged with the stationary guide while the second latch is disengaged therefrom. Upon return movement of the seat, the second latch comes into engagement with the stationary guide such that the seat assembly returns to the selected position.

    • A recording and/or reproducing apparatus for from an optical disk includes a tracking error signal forming device for forming a tracking error signal by taking the difference of detection output signals from at least a pair of light beam detectors provided in an optical pickup having an actuator for shifting an objective lens in a focusing direction or in a tracking direction. Also provided is, a tracking servo device for moving the objective lens in the tracking direction on the basis of the output signal from the tracking error signal forming device to effect a tracking servo, a period detection device for detecting whether the period of a tracking servo indicating a relative movement between a track on an optical disk and a light beam from the optical disk is not more than a predetermined value, and a d.c. component switching device for switching the gain of an amplifier stage stepwise, with the amplifier stage being adapted for amplifying a detection output signal of one of at least a pair of light beam detectors and supplying the amplified signal to the tracking error signal forming device. An offset eliminating device controls the d.c. component switching device to effect switching of the gain of the amplifier stage stepwise to produce compensation data compensating the offset of the tracking error signal, only when the detection output from the period detection means indicates that the traverse signal is not more than a predetermined value, with the tracking servo means being off.

    • A drive circuit for a wiper device includes reversible driving motors for alternately driving a pair of wiper assemblies in first and second directions. Each driving circuit includes a switching means and a means for detecting both ends of the wiper blade motions in the first and second directions. The switching means is operative to switch the direction of electric current supplied to an electric motor when the detecting means detects the end of wiper blade motion. Each driving circuit is connected to both of switching means so that it can reverse the current supplied to the driving motor when both of switching means detect the ends of the wiper assembly motion.
