    • A disk cartridge storage and retrieval apparatus includes a stocker vertically disposed in a housing for storing a multitude of disk cartridges. An information recording and reproducing device is disposed in the housing in a vertically aligned relation with the stocker for recording and reproducing information onto or from a disk received in a disk cartridge. A guide shaft is vertically disposed in the housing and has an upper end thereof fixedly secured to an upper portion of the housing and a lower end thereof held free to move. A carrier mechanism is supported on the guide shaft for vertical movement therealong for transporting a disk cartridge between the stocker and the information recording and reproducing device. A vertical drive mechanism including a motor and an endless belt drives the carrier mechanism in a vertical direction along the guide shaft. Vibrations of the motor, which is installed on a housing base for driving the endless belt connected with the carrier mechanism, as well as vibrations transmitted to the housing base from external vibration sources, can be prevented from transmitting therefrom to the guide shaft, thereby ensuring the accurate operation of the carrier mechanism as well as avoiding resultant malfunctions and/or trouble thereof.

    • A disk-storage device comprising a conveying mechanism having a plurality of clutching sections for clutching cartridges; a plurality of recording/reproducing units for recording and reproducing information on and from disks in the cartridges; and a plurality of lodging shelves for lodging cartridges. The number of recording/reproducing units and of lodging shelves is the same as the number of clutching sections, these three categories of components being arranged in the same positional relationship. They are all contained in a case having cartridge-supply/discharge openings through which cartridges are put into and taken out of the device. To enable a plurality of cartridges to be simultaneously held by the clutching sections of the conveying mechanism, a plurality of loading mechanisms temporarily hold cartridges, adjusting their positions accordingly. The cartridge-supply/discharge openings and the loading mechanisms are arranged in the same positional relationship. The device further comprises a divisional recording means adapted to time-divide information from the exterior and to distribute the information thus divided to the recording/reproducing units so as to record it on the disks in the cartridges, and a synthetic reproduction means adapted to synthesize information recorded on the disks by the recording/reproducing units in predetermined equal periods and to transmit it to the exterior.

    • Three leg tablelets are disposed on a vertically movable truck extending in parallel spaced relationship in a longitudinal direction with a yoke tablelet located along one side of the truck in a cross direction. Two parallel spaced conveyors are disposed above the leg tablelets to have two positions in each of which they are vertically aligned with either one of the outer leg tablelets and the central leg tablelet. A magnet is normally located to each of the conveyors to magnetically attract a magnetic lamination to the travelling conveyors to move it to a predetermined position relative to the aligned leg tablelet whereupon the conveyors are stopped. The magnet can be lifted after or before a change in position of the conveyors in the cross direction, to cause the magnetic lamination to fall on the mating leg tablelet. Each of two robots disposed adjacent to the yoke tablelets for cooperation with a corresponding positioning element to dispose magnetic laminations separately conveyed at a predetermined position on the yoke tablelet. In use the operations are repeated to stack the magnetic laminations into an E-shaped iron core.
