    • There are disclosed a pigment composition comprising a dry-milled pigment, a water-soluble resin, and a nonionic surfactant composed of a compound having an acetylenic linkage; and a method for producing a pigment composition, comprising dry-milling a pigment containing coarse particles in the presence of a water-soluble resin and a nonionic surfactant composed of a compound having an acetylenic linkage. The production method is also possible in the form of comprising (a) dry-milling a pigment containing coarse particles in the presence of a nonionic surfactant composed of a compound having an acetylenic linkage thereby obtaining an intermediate milled product, and (b) further dry-milling a mixture of the intermediate milled product and a water-soluble resin. For producing an aqueous pigment dispersion product, there is also disclosed herein a method comprising the steps of (a) dry-milling a pigment containing coarse particles in the presence of a water-soluble resin thereby obtaining a milled product, and (b) dispersing the milled product in water in the presence of a nonionic surfactant composed of a compound having an acetylenic linkage.

    • A process for the production of a pigment composition comprising dry-milling an organic pigment in the presence of a resin, which process aims to improve dispersibility and dispersing stabilization and is capable of giving a pigment composition for a printing ink excellent in fluidity, wherein the resin comprises a resin for a printing ink and an α-olefin-ethylenic unsaturated group-containing dicarboxylic acid copolymer or its modified product and 10 to 50 parts by weight of the resin for a printing ink and 1 to 30 parts by weight of the α-olefin-ethylenic unsaturated group-containing dicarboxylic acid copolymer or its modified product are used per 100 parts by weight of the organic pigment, and a printing ink containing a pigment composition obtained according to the above process as a colorant.

    • A process for the production of a dis-azo pigment having excellent dispersibility, high tinting strength and high masking strength, by a simple method under an improved working environment, which is improved in a drying step and can omit the pulverization step of a conventional process, the present process comprising(a) a first step of forming an aqueous paste or slurry containing a synthesized dis-azo pigment into fine particles under hot air at 100.degree. to 300.degree. C. for a short period of time within 0.5 hour, and at the same time, removing water from the formed fine particles to form a powder, and(b) a second step of keeping the powder under heat at 50.degree. to 150.degree. C. for 0.5 to 10 hours.
