    • It is objected to provide an image processing apparatus achieving decrease of memory volume to be used, simplified print process, and enhancement of productivity. Firstly, a plurality of image data are recorded in memories provided for respective colors. Based on the image data or mode selection by a user, it is determined that whether a multi-color image or a monochrome image is to be outputted. Next, memories 302 of respective colors transmit image data of respective colors to a computing unit 304 in accordance with readout-timing signals from a timing selector 305. In case a multi-color image is to be outputted, the timing selector 305 transmits readout-timing signals of respective colors taking time difference length of which is predetermined for each color. In case a monochrome image is to be outputted, the timing selector 305 transmits readout-timing signals of respective color simultaneously. A computing unit 304 forms monochrome image data in accordance with image data of respective colors, whereby process of monochrome print is simplified.

    • In an image forming apparatus, a line width detection unit detects a line width from attribute data inputted from an attribute data input unit, an edge detection unit detects an edge from image data inputted from an image data input unit, and an AND calculation unit calculates an AND of results of these detections. A coefficient storage unit stores a coefficient set for each line width. A line width correction coefficient multiplication unit acquires a correction coefficient corresponding to the detected line width with regard to an edge and the detected pixel and performs a multiplication to thereby correct the line width.

    • A method and apparatus for correcting image parameters for each of several image forming apparatuses networked together are provided. In the present method and apparatus, one device, which can be one of the networked image forming apparatuses, operates as an image parameter correction apparatus. The image parameter correction apparatus reads in a prescribed image formed by each image forming apparatus, and calculates image parameter correction values for each image forming apparatus. The image parameter correction values for each image forming apparatus are calculated by comparing image parameters for the corresponding scanned prescribed image with reference image parameters. The image parameter correction values for each image forming apparatus are then transmitted to the corresponding image forming apparatus. In the case where one of the networked image forming apparatuses serves as the image parameter correction apparatus, that apparatus also forms a prescribed image, and derives the reference image parameters from its own prescribed image, which is scanned in along with the prescribed images formed by the other image forming apparatuses.
