    • Disclosed is an image forming system, including: a conveying unit configured to convey recording paper; an image forming unit configured to print an image on the recording paper; an image reading unit configured to optically read the recording paper and to obtain a read image; and a correction control unit configured to control an execution of a test operation in which a test pattern including one or more thin lines are printed on the recording paper by the image forming unit and in which the test pattern is read by the image reading unit, to collect information indicting operation state of each unit in the execution of the test operation, to evaluate the thin lines in the read image obtained in the test operation in consideration of the collected information and to carry out a correction relating to printing of a specified thin line.

    • In a control apparatus, first type binary image data representing density of pixels arranged along a first image direction at a first resolution is acquired, and a first determining process is executed to determine an exposure pattern used to execute exposures of exposure lines at a second resolution lower than the first resolution along a first exposure direction. In the first determining process, a partial exposure pattern for exposing an output partial area that is correlated with a binary partial area and that overlaps N successive exposure lines is determined such that distribution of exposure amounts in the output partial area along the first exposure direction differs according to layout of second-value pixels in the binary partial area at least in the first image direction, thereby enabling an image of color material to be formed through development at a resolution higher than the second resolution in the first exposure direction.

    • An image forming apparatus includes a positioning unit that acquires a misalignment amount of a pixel in a main-scanning direction and a sub-scanning direction, the pixel as a reference pixel for zooming image data, and decides a position of a pixel as a correction target, based on the misalignment amount; a correcting unit that corrects the pixel; a zooming unit that controls the positioning unit and the correcting unit so as to repeatedly perform the positioning process and the correction process on a pixel line; a pattern recognition unit that performs pattern matching on a predetermined pattern and a predetermined pixel line; and a pixel position changing unit that shifts the decided pixel position in the sub-scanning direction, wherein the zooming unit performs the zooming process on the pixel line of the sub-scanning direction including the pixel that is located at shifted pixel position.
