摘要： A method of making fibrous alkali titanates comprising the steps of preparing a mixture including a titanium compound and an alkali metal compound in a molar ratio of 1.0 to 8.0 in terms of TiO.sub.2 :M.sub.2 O (M: Na, K, Rb, Cs), heating said mixture at a temperature of 1200.degree. to 1600.degree. C to the molten (liquid) phase, cooling the thus heated mixture to room temperature , and washing the thus treated product. This method is advantageous because fibrous alkali titanates of large ratio of length to diameter can be easily produced in high yield.

摘要： A power tool including a gear unit provided with a load moderating mechanism capable of reducing noise and prolonging service life. A coupling is force fitted with a spindle at a predetermined pressure allowing the spindle and the coupling to rotate relative to each other when a load exceeding a predetermined load is applied therebetween. A gear has a surround section having a convex and surrounding the coupling. The coupling has an abutment projection abutable against the convex and a damper projection. An elastic member is interposed between the damper projection and the surround section. Rotation of the gear is transmitted to the spindle through the elastic member and the coupling.

摘要： The present invention provides a power tool in which the permanent set of an elastic member is suppressed and the vibration reduction effect is maintained over a long period of time. A rubber ring is disposed as the elastic member between a wheel washer mounted on a spindle and a substrate of a diamond wheel, and these are secured by a locknut screwed to a tip of the spindle. This rubber ring absorbs the vibrations applied to the diamond wheel at grinding work. A mounting hole of the substrate is mounted on a boss portion of the wheel washer with a clearance fit, and spring pins whose both ends are supported by the wheel washer and a portion of a holding plate in the locknut are inserted into insertion holes of the substrate and insertion holes of the rubber ring with a clearance fit.
