摘要： A tape recorder for recording and/or reproducing information signals by relative sliding contact between a rotary magnetic head provided on the rotary head unit and a magnetic tape having information signals recorded on it.The tape recorder includes a rotary head unit having a rotary drum and a stationary drum coaxially mounted as and rotatably supporting the rotary drum. The rotary drum has a head mounted on it and is run in rotation for forcing the head into sliding contact with the tape-shaped recording medium run in one or the other direction. The tape recorder also includes a pair of supporting members rotatably supported by the rotary head unit, a pair of capstans rotatably supported by the rotary head unit, and a pair of pinch rolls arranged facing the capstans. The supporting members are rotated responsive to the running direction of the tape-shaped recording medium for selectively moving one of the capstans towards one of the pinch rolls. The selected capstan clamps and runs the tape-shaped recording medium in cooperation with the selected pinch roll by way of changing over the running direction of the magnetic tape.

摘要： A cassette holder in a recording and/or reproducing apparatus for a magnetic tape cassette includes a pair of circular-arc shaped members which serves to deflect a front pivotal closure member of the magnetic tape cassette to its open position when the magnetic tape cassette is inserted into the cassette holder to be arranged at a fixed position, and a plate member which serves to deflect the front pivotal closure member to its closed position when the magnetic tape cassette arranged at the fixed position is taken out of the cassette holder. The cassette holder is formed by combining two sheet metal members with each other. One of the sheet metal members is integrally formed with the circular-arc shaped members, and the other sheet metal member is integrally formed with the plate member. When the magnetic tape cassette is arranged at the fixed position, the front pivotal closure member is received within a space between the circular-arc shaped member and the plate member.

摘要： A magnetic tape cassette of very small type having a front lid pivotably secured to the cassette housing so as to open or close a front opening portion, and a guide portion arranged on the front wall of the lid at an asymmetrical position so as to extend in the longitudinal direction. Thus, when a number of tape cassettes are accommodated within a cassette magazine, the guide portions function as a guide so that all the tape cassettes with tracks A and B aligned in the same direction can be accommodated within the cassette magazine. Also, the tape cassette of the invention can be positively loaded on a recording and/or reproducing apparatus from a desired surface side. Further, since the guide portion is formed on the lid, mechanical strength of the cassette housing can be prevented from being decreased and the indication label attaching area on the top wall of the cassette housing is prevented from being restricted.
