摘要： A weather strip comprising an extruded body having straight sections and a corner section curving therebetween is disclosed. The extruded body comprises an attachment portion and a hollow sealing portion integrally formed by extrusion molding. The attachment portion is attached to a part of an automobile and the sealing portion is connected to the attachment portion at both ends. The weather strip comprises: an incision slit made on the outer periphery of the sealing portion in the corner section; an incision edge formed on the sealing portion along the incision slit, the incision edge being spread out toward the outer periphery of the corner section with the attachment portion and sealing portion being curved along a corner shape of the part of the automobile; and a molded part formed at least in the vicinity of the incision edge on the back side of the sealing portion in the corner section.

The integrated reveal molding includes an upper reveal adapted to be mounted to the header section. The upper reveal includes a reveal surface disposed outboard of the header section. A reveal is secured along the reveal surface. The integrated reveal molding also includes a glass run co-extruded with the upper reveal. The glass run includes a window receiving channel for engagement with a window pane. The integrated reveal molding is formed as an extruded member from thermoplastic vulcanisate (TPV) of different durometer values to meet varying flexibility and durability requirements.

摘要： Disclosed is a weather strip comprising: (a) a solid rubber made retainer; (b) a plurality of retainer lips projecting from the inside of the retainer, the retainer lips being arranged to oppose each other and adapted such that the flange of an automobile body is inserted into the space formed by the opposing retainer lips; and (c) a projection which is provided on the end of at least one pair of the retainer lips among the plurality of retainer lips and projects toward the innermost surface of the retainer so as to be pressure-contacted by the flange of the automobile body. The pair of retainer lips having the projection come into contact with each other at the portion where the projections are provided and open gradually toward the open end of the retainer. Two pairs of retainer lips are provided inside the retainer, toward the open end and the innermost surface opposing the open end, respectively, and the pair of retainer lips having the projection is that which is located close to the innermost surface of the retainer.

The bottom wall is inclined in such a direction as to make an acute angle with the one side wall. In the weather strip wherein the bottom wall is inclined with respect to the side walls, the trim portion can be prevented from twisting and leaning even when being curved along the corner portion, and mounted thereon. And at this time, good sealing properties can be maintained together with good external appearance.

摘要： A process for forming linear, thermoplastic weatherseals into a bend position is provided which avoids buckling of the thinner surfaces of the weatherseal material. The process involves the use of a support insert which supports the thinner surfaces during the bending operation, and thus assists in preventing the deformation of the thinner weatherseal surfaces. The support is preferable constructed of a material which is unaffected by temperatures higher than the heat-deformation temperature used to set the weatherseal material into a bent configuration, and thus, the support insert retains its linear shape when removed from the bending press, and therefore, can be reused. An improved process for manufacturing bent thermoplastic weatherseal material results.
