    • An outboard engine system includes a casing and an engine mounted in an upper part of the casing. The casing also contains a torque converter, and a vertically arranged output shaft connected to a crankshaft through the torque converter. In the torque converter, a turbine runner is arranged above a pump impeller and connected to the output shaft, and a transmission cover is connected to an outer periphery of the pump impeller so as to cover an upper surface of the turbine runner. A drive plate is secured at its central portion to a lower end of the crankshaft by a first bolt, and an outer peripheral portion of the drive plate is secured to the transmission cover by a second bolt. The torque converter is suspended from the crankshaft via the drive plate. Thus, it is possible to provide an outboard engine system which enables support of a torque converter without using any bearing exclusively for supporting the overall weight of the torque converter, thereby reducing the cost.

    • A vertical power unit includes an input shaft and an output shaft which have axes in the vertical direction and are vertically arranged to each other; and a torque converter between the input shaft and the output shaft. The output shaft includes an upper output shaft connected to a turbine runner and a lower output shaft connected to the upper output shaft. An oil tank and an oil pump are provided outside the torque converter. The upper output shaft is provided with a vertical hole which communicates at an upper end with a circulation circuit of the torque converter so as to introduce the oil discharged by the oil pump into the circulation circuit, and a bottom wall which closes a lower end of the vertical hole. Thus, an working oil is constantly supplied to the circulation circuit of the torque converter through the interior of the output shaft, thereby cooling the working oil in the circulation circuit, and improves maintainability of loading devices driven by the output shaft.

    • Vibration is prevented from being transmitted via a common ink chamber or a fixed substrate. A porous member is disposed between the common ink chamber and a pressure generation chamber so that a discharge liquid passes through the interior of the porous member to move from the common ink chamber to the pressure generation chamber. Vibration generated in one pressure generation chamber is attenuated through the porous member when the vibration is transmitted to another pressure generation chamber via the common ink chamber; and thus, no cross-talk is generated. Furthermore, when piezoelectric vibrators having different lengths are mounted on the same fixed substrate and have the resonance frequencies different from each other, vibration is not transmitted to another pressure generation chamber via the fixed substrate and the piezoelectric vibrator; and therefore, the cross-talk is much less likely to be generated.

    • Vibration is prevented from being transmitted via a fixed substrate. In order to set the resonance frequencies of the vibration of piezoelectric vibrators to be different from each other, the piezoelectric vibrators having different lengths are attached to the same fixed substrate. Even if residual vibration of a pressure generation chamber, which is expanded/contracted by a piezoelectric vibrator to which a voltage is applied, is transmitted to the fixed substrate; and even if the vibration is transmitted to another piezoelectric vibrator via the fixed substrate; another piezoelectric vibrator does not vibrate because the resonance frequencies between the piezoelectric vibrators are different from each other. Consequently, the pressure generation chamber in contact with the piezoelectric vibrator is not expanded or contracted by the vibration.
