    • It is intended to provide noodles which require a highly shortened boiling time compared with non-grooved noodles and are still comparable to non-grooved noodles in appearance, taste, and texture after cooking. The above described problem is solved by providing grooved noodles in which a maximum diameter in the cross-section of a single noodle band is from 1.2 mm to 3.0 mm and the major outer shape thereof is an arc of a circle or ellipse, or the cross-section of a single noodle band has a rectangular or substantially rectangular shape, wherein: said noodles have a plurality of grooves formed along the longitudinal direction of said noodle band; and the total area of the section of said plurality of grooves in the cross-section of said noodle band is 20 to 50% of the area of the circle or ellipse formed by the major outer shape of the cross-section of said noodle band, or the rectangular or substantially rectangular shape of said cross-section.

A coating liquid is applied onto an untreated steel sheet. The applied liquid is heated on the side close to the steel sheet in such a manner that the time elapsed until the steel sheet temperature is increased to 100° C. after the application is completed is 10 seconds or less, thereby drying the coating liquid. The steel sheet temperature is further increased to a predetermined temperature, thereby forming a coating film. When insulating films for electromagnetic steel sheets are formed, the coating liquid preferably further contains a water based inorganic component.

    • Extruded elongate pasta is disclosed, each pasta strand having at least one groove formed longitudinally in the pasta strand in such a manner that the total cross sectional area of the groove is 2 to 25% of the cross sectional area of the pasta strand, and the groove in the pasta strand is substantially closed after the elongate pasta is boiled or dipped in hot water. A die structure for extruding the elongate pasta is also disclosed, the die structure being so arranged that a projection is projected toward the axis of a die hole from the inner surface of the die hole and that the coefficient of friction of the inner surface of the die hole is 0.4 or less. It is preferable that a tapered portion is formed on the upstream end of the projection. Further, an extruder for forming the elongate pastas which has a number of such die holes is also disclosed, in which projections of the die holes are projected perpendicularly to the aligning direction of the die holes.
